| Original Song Title: | "Won't Get Fooled Again" |
| Original Performer: | The Who |
| Parody Song Title: | "Just Got Bushed Again" |
| Parody Written by: | Steve Kalafut |
Depending on your view, it's time to either gloat or scream in horror.
We'll be going out to vote
And the lefties they all hope
That the president we have now will be gone
Mister Kerry spurred them on
Saying Double-U is wrong
We'll decide and the pollsters sing the song
I thank the founders for our constitution
Make decisions without revolution
Here's our chance for some change all around
Got in line without delay
Voted yesterday
Now it looks like I have to say
We've just got Bushed again
The change, it didn't come
We waited all night along
Reds were separated from the blues, that's all
And the country looks the same
And the Congress hasn't changed
And the protests will be back for the next war
I'll tip my hat to the new constitution
Written down for the folks in Afghanistan
Smile and grin at the change over there
Taliban in charge no more
Burkas out the door
And I say to myself by George,
We've just got Bushed again
Oh, no!
I'll move myself and my family around
If we ever get away from these clowns
I'll read all the papers and watch out for these guys
'Cause I know that politicos often lie
(instrumental)
There's nothing in the streets
Looks any different to me
'Cept the campaign signs have all been taken down
And the pundits on the left
And all the pundits on the right
They can take up their disputes another night
I thank the founders for our constitution
Make decisions without revolution
Vote them in, later on vote them out
This time the results are clear
Lefties cower in fear
Now it looks like for four more years
We've got George Bush again
Got George Bush again
No, no! / Oh, yeah! (depending on your point of view)
(instrumental)
Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!
(scream brought to you courtesy of Howard Dean)
Meet the new boss
Same as the old boss
And the lefties they all hope
That the president we have now will be gone
Mister Kerry spurred them on
Saying Double-U is wrong
We'll decide and the pollsters sing the song
I thank the founders for our constitution

Disclaimer: I did not create the slogan "By George, we got Bushed". This was seen on a bumper sticker, in the early 90's, referring to George Bush the elder. As for the last 2 lines, I thought no change from the original was necessary.

555, very clever! The original song lines "Meet the new boss / Same as the old boss" work perfectly here, as does having Howard Dean do the Daltrey-Scream!
We got the fool again.
JB, write it!
Well-paced, clever use of old material where it was needed, heartfelt message: 5-5-5.
Sweeeeeeeeeeet.
Great job. And Johnny DD beat me to my other two points.
