The Lyrics

I've been away for a bit, so I'll get back into it slowly. This one's built completely around the title sub, and like most Ramones songs, it's fast and repetitive.
Wok Wok Wok Wok, Wokin’ some Thai food

Well, I don’t care about French cuisine
Wok Wok, Wokin’ some Thai food
‘Cause that’s not what I wanna eat
Wok Wok, Wokin’ some Thai food
I just want green curry beef
Kaffir lime and basil leaf
Wok Wok Wok Wok Wokin’ some Thai food

Well I’d love Boo Jah(1) and some Pad See Ew(2)
Wok Wok, Wokin’ some Thai food
Chicken stir-fry with some bamboo shoots
Wok Wok, Wokin’ some Thai food
Seafood from Southeast Asia is the boss
Like scallops served up with peanut sauce
Wok Wok Wok Wok Wokin’ some Thai food
Wok Wok Wok Wok Wokin’ some Thai food

Yum yum, wokin’ some Thai food
Yum yum, wokin’ some Thai food
Yum yum, wokin’ some Thai food
Yum yum, red curry
Yum yum, red curry
Yum yum, yum yum
Wok Wok Wok Wok Wokin’ some Thai food
Wok Wok Wok Wok Wokin’ some Thai food
Wok Wok Wok Wok Wokin’ some Thai food

Well, Thai ain’t nothing like Japanese
Wok Wok Wok Wok Wokin’ some Thai food
They’re not tied up in artistry
Wok Wok Wok Wok Wokin’ some Thai food
I just want some jasmine rice
Tom Kha Gai with heavy spice
Wok Wok Wok Wok Wokin’ some Thai food
Wok Wok Wok Wok Wokin’ some Thai food

Yum yum, wokin’ some Thai food
Yum yum, wokin’ some Thai food
Yum yum, wokin’ some Thai food
Yum yum, red curry
Yum yum, red curry
Yum yum, yum yum
Wok Wok Wok Wok Wokin’ some Thai food
Wok Wok Wok Wok Wokin’ some Thai food
Wok Wok Wok Wok Wokin’ some Thai food
Wok Wok Wok Wok Wokin’ some Thai food
(1) That's Ew as in Eeeewww
(2) It's a hard J in Jah

You've primed me for breakfast.

Eating Thai is very enjoyable (especially if she cooks a meal afterwards). I remember this song from the summer of '79 just as I was leaving school. I was (& still am) heavily into Purple/Sabbath/Zeppelin etc so it all sounded a bit amateur to me - I wondered if the punk bands would ever become proper musicians but few of them did. PS You wondered what mater means (on my parody today) - it's an old fashioned term for mother (& pater for father)

JB - Thai for breakfast? I like Thai, but that's too much spice in the morning

AP - Punk was never about musicianship. It was about the undirected energy of youth. I love me some Zeppelin, too, but you can't dance to it.

A little repetitive, but it's still good to see you back writing again. Hope you stick around for awhile.

... and you've been missed. Coincidentally, I'm eating dinner at the moment -- Chinese -- dovetails nicely. And what's wrong with a little bit of Thai in the morning, along with some leg and breast? 555

Mal - Well it sure ain't Laosy

IB - I imagine there is a small punk scene in Thailand.

Madame - Well, if you are speaking metaphorically, that's another story.

Matty - I started a new job at the beginning of the year which involves a 9-hour work day and a 70 minute commute each way, so it doesn't leave as much time for writing.

Lord McLewd, will this "new Employa" allow a business trip to Havana ? ? It's that time for another "Pair 0Dee's" convention, eh Sir?

Aggy - Sometimes simple is good.

Cohiba - Sadly, no. I have a Secret clearance, and they frown upon visits to Communist countries.

Now, Jamaica on the other hand ...
