The Lyrics

This is a replacement to a similar parody I did 2 years ago which wasn't really complete. I have added some things to make this one complete. This is a proposed theme to a "fanfic" I hope to get around to writing, where the 4 "lost girls" from the 1st year of "Facts of Life" were zapped to some kind of other world.
We are four people who are wand'ring this world,
We got lost in a vortex and we don't have a key.
We didn't ask to be transported like this.
We just came from the real world, and we'd like to be free.
And if you've ever been - in - the real world before,
and you can say exactly how to get back, please tell me.
I'm just a part of the original band.

They said the focus wasn't in the right place,
and to get the right focus, there must be a cost.
They put attention on just four of us girls,
and we are the four girls whose attention got lost.
So if you've ever been in the real world, too,
and you can say exactly what to do, please tell me.
I'm just a part of the original band.

How can we understand
a girl who wears cleats,
and a blonde who keeps her figure though her
eating - won't stop,
a girl who keeps on yapping on the phone, all the time, and a girl whose
head looks like a mo-op?
Her head looks like a mo-op.

Her motorcycle made a ruckus outside,
She came in with her ponytail and jacket on hand.
She said "Is this where I'm suppose-ta check in?"
and the next thing you know, we find ourselves in this land.
So if you've ever been in the real world before,
and you can say exactly how to get back, please tell me.
I'm just a part of the original band.

(Instrumental break)

I'm just a part of the original band.

How can we understand
a girl who wears cleats,
and a blonde who keeps her figure though her
eating - won't stop,
a girl who keeps on yapping on the phone, all the time, and a girl whose
head looks like a mo-op?
Her head looks like a mo-op.

We are not the only four a-crossing our world.
There's also Mr. Bradley, and Miss Mahoney.
I'm just a part of the original band,
I'm just a part of the original band.
There's two rabbits hopping 'round with us in their cage,
and there's Chestnut the horse, and rollerskates are on me.
I'm just a part of the original bAAaaAAnd.
We're just a part of the original band...
A few side notes: The "blonde who keeps her figure though her eating won't stop" refers to the fact that although Sue Ann can be seen eating some big cake or pie at times, the actress Julie Piekarski probably ate 2 or 3 bites of it on camera and that was it. In my proposed fanfic, the "girl with a ponytail and jacket" will be the equivalent in this thing as the "one-armed man" was in "The Fugitive".

Wow, and i thought I was too much into this show. Fun fact: Julie Ann Piekarski and Lisa "Blair Warner" Whelchel are both former Mouseketeers of the 70s incarnation of The Mickey Mouse Club. And we all know what happened with Molly Ringwald--perhaps that can be incorporated into your fanfic.
The parody itself, well, without the lengthy introduction, would make no sense to anyone. Good luck.

I have had an idea for an "episode" using the Mouseketeer angle. If and when I get around to writing them, this will be one of the stories, I'm sure.
