The Lyrics

On August 4th, Sir Paul McCartney gave a sold-out concert at Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati with tickets reaching into the hundred dollar range. On the same night, I played TOS on the euphonium during karaoke at a local nightclub for no admission. Moral: You get what you pay for! ;D

The loud obnoxious toad
That croaks by my door
Will never give me peace.
Each night he's back for more.
His "singing" will not cease
'Though I've yelled and swore.

He's out there ribbiting,
Making way too much noise.
He's looking for a mate,
His call he employs.
Soon more will congregate.
How that toad annoys!

Ev'ry night he's waking me.
I never get my rest.
Lack of sleep is breaking me.
I can't be at my best.

So I'll will put the blame
On that loud irksome toad.
He's like an evil elf.
He's got me out of sorts.
I hope he gives himself
A bad case of warts.

(Long lush orchestral break. Paul McCartney may not have liked it, but that is another long and involved story!)

Someday I'll take an ax
To that loud writhing toad.
He "sings" the whole night through.
It's like a lion's roar.
I'll do what I must do,
Then he'll croak no more.

In this song, McCartney seems to have taken considerable liberties with the number of syllables in each line. Remind me to "call him out" after I've made more money than he has. ;D

He will "croak", then he will "croak" no more.

I'd pay to hear you sing this, but not to hear Sir Paul sing his songs.
It's too bad that you put the title and performer in the wrong boxes.
Where I live now (SE VA) & previously (NE MA), toads have been wiped out by development. Catch it and send it here.
