Song Parodies -> "Exorcise"

Original Song Title:

"Miss E"

Original Performer:

The Letter People

Parody Song Title:

"Exorcise"

The Lyrics

A sixth helping of "Alphabet Soup" from me and Jared, dedicated to all the horror-movie fans at AmIRight. If you've seen the original "Exorcist" movie, you'll recognize the narrators in this parody. (DISCLAIMER: The lyrics here are inspired/sung by fictional characters, not by either of the parody authors. Ms. Nordén's real-life religion does not involve Satan in any way.)
[Regan Teresa McNeil:]

I feel extremely strange;
What's wrong with me? Help me!
Act spooky and deranged,
Don't you agree? Help me!

[Father Mahey:]

We've got to exorcise, exorcise, exorcise--
Demons, be gone!
E-E-Exorcise--
Forces are strong!

[Regan:]

Will you help me? Exorcise, Father Mahey!

[Father Mahey:]

Demons, be gone! Forces are strong!

[The Demon:]

Won't let you exorcise, exorcise, exorcise--
Spin my head!
E-E-Exorcise--
Float off the bed!

Father, watch me spin my head and float off the bed!

[Regan:]

Forces got stronger now--
what should we do? Help me!

[Father Mahey:]

Smell brimstone burning--YOW,
You're turning blue...help me!
We'll have to exorcise, exorcise, exorcise--
forces nigh!
E-E-Exorcise--
floating high?!?

[Regan:]

Father Mahey--forces nigh, floating high...

[The Demon:]

*RETCH*

[Father Mahey:]

I've got to exorcise, exorcise, exorcise--
show 'em who's boss!
E-E-Exorcise--
grab that cross!

[Regan:]

Show 'em who's boss, Father Mahey, and grab that cross!

Satan's up to no good,
this shouldn't be--help me!
Father, do what you should--
this is for real, help me!

[Father Mahey:]

And we will exorcise, exorcise, exorcise
till you're alone.
E-E-Exorcise--
hey, stop that groan!

[Regan:]

Do you know where that groan is coming from?

[The Demon:]

Damned if I know...

[Father Mahey:]

We've had to exorcise, exorcise, exorcise
Now all is right
E-E-Exorcise,
you've seen the light
E-E-Exorcise, exorcise, exorcise
E-E-Exorcise, exorcise, exorcise

This would be a great musical production number! 555 (BTW--didja ever notice the bridge sounds very similar to a melody from Andrew Lloyd Webber's 'Jesus Christ Superstar'?)

Thanks for the comment, though your vote didn't register on the site--is there a technical problem blocking it?

I sometimes comment first and forget to vote...this should do it.
