The Lyrics

Leave it to me to finally get in on a big fad or craze just as it is winding down. Kudos to all who have made the alternative Edmund Fitzgerald series a success. I can only spin it into a new direction by asking "What caused the wreck?". I write this as President Obama and his supporters/administration, doing what they do best and nonstop (three guesses...lol).

(Intro banjo music)

Narration: Throughout August, there have been countless parodies about "What if this artist had written The Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald". This song, however, is about WHAT caused the tragedy. For over four years, candidate and later President Obama has relentlessly placed the blame for everything wrong with America and the world on one source. So now...hit it, Barry!

(Sung)

What really sank the Big Fitz? This is no website spoof.
Listen, you amiright twits - Holder(1) has airtight proof.

Here is our big announcement - evidence in our vault
Verifies our pronouncement - It was all Bush's fault!

What sank the E. Fitzgerald? You know our endless game.
One answer that we herald - Always it's Bush to blame.

'Twas no "Witch of November" - This any fool can see.
'Twas each Tea Party member - and all the G.O.P.!

What caused the ore boat sinking? March, chant, and make a scene!
It was Bush, so we're thinking - he also caused Irene!

Dan Rather's(2) got the papers - and we'll skin Buish alive.
It was his grad school capers - way back in seventy-five!

What caused the Fitz disaster? Here is the charge we make:
Bush was the evil master. He caused the East Coast Quake!

Trumka(3) tells the reunion - I'm never gonna cry!
One sailor was non-union. That guy deserved to die!

What really sank the Big Fitz? It's Bush's greatest crime!
It must be true, you nit-wits. It's in Newsweek and Time!
We sure can dish the slime. No reason but great rhyme.

(1) Attorney General Eric Holder, still in a huff about not getting his dream trial of Kahlid Sheik Mohammed in New York City. (2) Ex-CBS anchorman/producer Dan Rather, whose attacks on Bush's service record with patently false fabricated evidence hastened his retirement. (3) Richard Trumka, head of the A.F.L. - C.I.O., who brags that he is contact with the White House every day and meets with the president face-to-face several times each week.

Well, the Fitzgerald did fail, so maybe Bush did have something to do with it.

Great parody, and a mystery finally solved. I've got a feeling the series is not over just yet. That will be my fault.

Thanks guys. ;D

I missed the E.F. series, but this truly is "great rhyme" as you ended.
By coincidence, you and I both used the rare word "slime" today.
If GWB can cause events before his birth, can continue after death?

The nice thing about AIR is that you can always go back and see what you missed, if anything. I expect this to go on for some time. I still have a few more Fitzgerald's to sink.

You've created a monster, Patrick.

Maybe a tidal wave.

No. The Death Star sank it.

I liked this one a lot - are they still blaming Bush for everything then? You got more guts than I have, Ribber - I thought about doing an E.F parody but kept chickening out of it :^) 555 for one of the funniest of these I've seen!
