Song Parodies -> "It’s My Sentiment That Cephalopodies..."

Original Song Title:

"If I Said You Had a Beautiful Body..."

 (MP3)
Original Performer:

The Bellamy Brothers

Parody Song Title:

"It’s My Sentiment That Cephalopodies..."

Parody Written by:

Merry & Pippin

The Lyrics

M: Let's do a parody about Cephalopods!
P: You what? What the hell's a Cephalopod?
M: Have you lived in a cave all your life?
P: (I'll be good...)

The full parody title is "It’s My Sentiment That Cephalopodies (Are Too Tentacle-enty)" but I think it was gonna make Chuck's server blow an O-ring or something :)

A low-bitrate mp3 of the song can be found here.
It’s my sentiment that cephalopodies
Are too tentacle-enty
If they wore undue phalanges
Would they creep about; not revel seaflight?
In a gaseous burst
They could so so rough up menschies
It’s my sentiment that cephalopodies
Are too tentacle-enty

Now see the nautilus under the nether
Reveal from deep some squids upon the coast
No good inky octopus propulsions
Or gastric treats: bird-mealy cuttlebones

It’s my sentiment that cephalopodies
Are too tentacle-enty
If they source you as a danger
They will colour change to amble from sight
Thought that sly, then I cursed
Moved too slow - it swum to catch me
Then it blemished up my beautiful body
With it’s tentacle-enties

Now snaily gastropods would please Calypso
A tun refind’s a quite sharp mollusc-y
And dandy barnacles upon their small stalks
And pelycopods I always want to see

But it’s my sentiment that cephalopodies
Are too tentacle-enty
I abhor a flurry tangle
Of appendagey dishevely fright
Those jellifying, submersed,
Footy-challenged ones don’t tempt me
It’s my sentiment that cephalopodies
Are too tentacle-enty

It’s my sentiment that cephalopodies
Are too tentacle-enty
That teuthology does rankle
‘Cus they’ll greet you with a grippily bite!

Wow, 8 votes with only 2 comments? This parody deserves more comments. Very creative, in an almost surreal kinda way. I also have trouble pronouncing it, too bad you guys aren't really recording anymore, I'd like to hear this just so I can hear it pronounced. 5s

Dave, it's hard for us to record, the sound of the Pacific Ocean drowns our voices out !

"Seff-uh-LA-pod-eeze". Does that help?

I do my collaborations as one part and then the other person does their part, but I don't know if that's a realistic option for you guys, if I can ever help (editing, production etc) let me know, I'd be happy to do so (like I did in Jeff Reuben's Homley No More), but yes that did help.
