The Lyrics

Some people call me the praise cowboy
Some call me the banker of God
Some people call me Pon-teeeeef
But I think that guy is a jerk-waaaad

People talk about me bay-bay
Say my masses are long, masses are looooong
But don't you worry, no don't worry, mama
I do 'em right here, right here, right here
Right here in Rome

I'm not a vicar
Not a sinner
Want a hummer
I'm blessin' dinner
Like my music with or-guun

I'm the Poper
Faith and Hope-er
I'm an A-boy groper
Introduce me to your sooon

Wooohooo Wooohooo

I'm the oldest virgin you ever will see
Really love to preach; I wanna take your feeee
Well, abra-dabra abra-dabra abra-dabra alla time
Presto change-o! Made blood from wiiine

Bless my liquor
Bless my meals
Bless my shiny
Popemobiles
Taunt the snipers just for fuuun

I'm the Poper
Purple robe-er
And God is my chauffeur
Won't cave in on a-bor-tiooooon

Wooohoo Woohooo

People keep talking about me, baby
Say my hat is all wrong
Well, don't you worry, baby don't worry
Cause I like it, like it, like it pointy and looong

You're the worst blasphemer I ever did see
Think I'll have the Big Guy strike you down for meeee
Abra-dabra abra-dabra alla-ka-zaaaaam
It did not work? Well, scooby-dee-daaaamn......

Yep, you got a lightning bolt aimed straight for your head now, Claude. As per usual with your parodies, I laughed my @ss off. So many great lines!

I don't recall the BIG Boss, ever being accused of molesting children himself, but still funny and worthy of high marks. I know my Grandmother must be turning over in her grave, Hope she still is saving my seat , by the pearly gates.
Hoeveel - July 18, 2003 - Report this comment
The Pope, a virgin? I think not. Oh crap, wild man, i forgot about that whole heaven thing, for the past 20 years, does St. Peter take bribes?
Michael Pacholek - July 18, 2003 - Report this comment
In the immortal words of Queen Latifah, They got a special place in hell for you. On top of that -- it wasn't funny! Praise the Lord and pass this one by!
Wild Man - July 18, 2003 - Report this comment
When the Pope was Italian, bribes may have been possable. This Pope is Polish, so you tell me? Opps.... There goes my grandmother turing over in her grave again.
Cardinal Virtue - July 18, 2003 - Report this comment
I give this one 6 6 6.
Claude Prez - July 18, 2003 - Report this comment
Hey thanks for the comments. Wildman--you are correct, of course. As far as I know, the pope doesn't molest altar boys or use the word "jerkwad". This is more a general indictment of an antiquated, destructive religion; he's just a handy and comical symbol. Spaff: If I'm going to hell, it's because you "damned" me the other day (something about ruining BTO). Seriously, thanks everyone for taking the time.

Speaking as a Polish American -- If the Pope is Polish, he can be bribed with food. Preferably spicy and with cholesterol up to his cassock. On the other hand, if he blesses it, it'll probably be no more harmful to him than a salad. The man is 83 years old, after all, and has stood up to Nazis, Commies, mullahs and even Southern Baptists. He's pretty fly for a Vatican guy.
Hoeveel - July 20, 2003 - Report this comment

Hoeveel - July 21, 2003 - Report this comment
who? - yup good plan. Let's apply that to the media while we're at it. No criticising the government or church! Hmm...sounds oddly familiar...
who? - July 21, 2003 - Report this comment
criticize, Hoveel? what I said was to shut up if u can't say anything good. There is plenty of criticiscm of the Catholic Church. happens to be people's favorite punching bag. i'm personally sick of it. yes, do apply it to the media for a change.
Hoeveel - July 21, 2003 - Report this comment
Erm...criticism doesn't usually fall under the category of 'anything good' especially from the point of view of the recipient. Do you ever wonder why there is a lot of criticism of the Catholic Church?
who? - July 21, 2003 - Report this comment
hoeveel, because there are numerous unfounded facts and downright malicious lies. You gonna add to them?
who? - July 21, 2003 - Report this comment
Erm...call me pedantic, but if something is unfounded, it's hardly a fact, is it? I'd like to think i'm not going to add to them, but i personally can't think of too many of what your referring to...maybe you'd like to enlighten us?
Hoeveel - July 21, 2003 - Report this comment

If Guy has been to New Jersey like he claims, then he's heard my accent. We all sound Italian here. Except for the ones who speak Ebonics. You know, the kids in the malls.
who? - July 21, 2003 - Report this comment
Hoeveel, I say unfounded fact merely because most people take these unfounded claims as fact. As to enlightening you, it would be better to pick a "fact" that people believe about the Catholic Church and I will then enlighten you to the true facts.
Hoeveel - July 21, 2003 - Report this comment
Eh? Sorry, but i never said anything about these facts. You brought them up and now you're asking me to define them?

Mike - That one went right over your head, didn't it? Read it again, but this time read it s l o w l y. And no, they sound more like a bunch of retarded mafiosos - like "whose coat is dis jackit ovah eer?"
who? - July 21, 2003 - Report this comment
hoeveel, no I didn't bring up incorrectly stated facts, you did, by saying that previous Popes did not stand up to the Nazis. It is not my intention to have 'just a debate',however. This is about the Pope, for pete's sake!! Show respect!
Hoeveel - July 21, 2003 - Report this comment
who? - i never said anything about these 'unfounded facts' - what i was saying was you brought up the topic of unfounded facts, rather than me. I didn't state any outright facts either, i merely hinted that a previous pope didn't 'stand up' to the Nazis. And i'm most confused that you seem to think i need afford any additional respect to the man because he is 'the pope', can you elaborate on that?
Hoeveel - July 21, 2003 - Report this comment
oh, yeah, '' is bold, isn't it? Stupid me....
Claude Prez - July 22, 2003 - Report this comment
Here's a fact: Catholicism, like many religions, is based on fear. They threaten children with eternal damnation if they don't obey and support them financially. It's wrong in principle. On top of that, they require their priests to take a vow of celibacy, which is completely unnatural and just asking for trouble, then leave innocent trusting little children in their care. All the allegations are easy to believe; the unbelievable thing to me is that some people still think this silly religion and its "leaders" are worthy of respect.
who? - July 22, 2003 - Report this comment
Hoeveel, no, sorry. If you don't get it, you don't.
Hoeveel - July 22, 2003 - Report this comment
who? - Well, in that case, i must be a totally hopeless cause. Cos i've completely lost you now. I don't even know wwhat i'm supposed to be'getting' at this stage... :/ Tell me, i'm atheist, how is a fairly random individual like the Pope, who - as far as i can see - has gained his position fairly abritrarily, is supposed to get more respect than anyone else? Maybe i'm just ignorant on the subject, maybe you could tell me what he's done to deserve any extra esteem?
Mike Hunt - July 22, 2003 - Report this comment
Hoeveel - It's a Catholic thing. I have been watching this for some days now and that is what it boils down to. I was raised as a Catholic, but soon thereafter entered into recovery in my adult life. I have respect for the Pope as a man who helped to stand down the communists in his native Poland. He thoroughly backed the solidarity movement that a man named Leck Welesa started in the 1980's. But he as you and I put the pants on one leg at a time making him unique just like everyone else. But to the devout Catholic he is their living saint. So just look at it as a Catholic thing and respect their right to worship as they see fit.
Hoeveel - July 22, 2003 - Report this comment
Just like to say i like your nick Mike Hunt ;) and some of the turns of phrase you use are pretty cool: 'But he as you and I put the pants on one leg at a time making him unique just like everyone else.' Coupled with the fact you were raised Catholic, am i wrong in thinking you might be Irish?

I understand Catholics should have the right to worship how they see fit and i understand how people who believe in Catholicism might see the Pope as a venerable person. But when someone tells me to talk about the Pope with respect when all i implied was that one of them didn't 'stand up' to the Nazis - that's where i get confused. :/
Mike Hunt - July 22, 2003 - Report this comment
No Hoeveel, I nor any part of me is Irish. Actually I am of eastern European and Southern European decent. Not a speck of Anglo in my blood. I just respect this pope for the reasons that I have stated. I saw nothing wrong with your statement that one of them did not stand up to the Nazis. It is just a fact and if one has to stifle the truth in order to maintain respect then there is something the matter with the value system of the person that made that statement. You stick to your guns.
Hoeveel - July 22, 2003 - Report this comment
Huy! The Irish are Celts, not Anglos, ffs! ;)

Claude - If you can't make fun of Popes & Presidents & Pedophiles & whatever other things start with "P" or anything else for that matter, well, then hopefully you aren't in this country, because it's supposed to be ok here. That "Freedom of Speech" thingee. Oh, wait, I forgot, we've got the "Patriot Act" now. Well, shut my mouth. Just found this site 11/10/03 and this is the first chance I've had to surf around it. Good parody, by the way.

Freedom of speech does not allow you to shout "Fire!" in a crowded theater, and it doesn't allow you to use the word "thingy." (or "thingee") Unless, of course, you're trying out to be the sixth host of QE4SG.

While I'm completely in agreement with you in this, Claude, I do feel that JPII did a lot which does deserve respect - not because he was head of the Catholic church, but because of what he did as head of the Catholic church. Anyway, DKTOS, but loved the parody.

Upon further review, I still think this is awful, but that line "praise cowboy" is worth at least a 4.
