The Lyrics

Well, away with the political for the moment. Let's have some fun. This one most everybody should know.
Some DJ's call this a waste, well boy
Others say they can't play it enough
Some DJ's call me boring
'Cause I speak without competence of much

People talk about me daily
Say I'm doin' this wrong, doin' this wrong
I don't worry, don't worry,
Don't worry, maybe,
'cause I'm writing out another bad song

'Cause I'm a picker
I'm a strummer
I'm a plucker
And I'm a bummer
I churn out lame songs by the pound

I'm a tailor
I'm a tinker
Here's another
That's a stinker
I'll run this crap into the ground

I'm a picker
I'm a strummer
I'm a plucker
And I'm a bummer
I churn out lame songs by the ton

I'm a plunker
I'm a sailor
I'm a drunkard
And I'm a failure
So here's another song that's dumb
Eeewww Eeewwwww

Here's the dumbest song
That ever could be
Really smells like feces
Won't you play it please?
Crummy-crummy, crumby-cruddy, you will whine
Oh yeah, buddy, it's so bad it's a crime

'Cause I'm an author
I'm a poet
Here's some more crap
Wouldn't you know it
I'll play this pap into the ground

I'm a singer
I'm a ringer
I don't mind if
I get the finger
I write this garbage by the pound

I'm a picker
I'm a strummer
I'm a plucker
And I'm a bummer
I'm now a star of some renown

Here's a new verse
Won't have to rehearse
So lame it's perverse
From here it get's worse
Another song with the same sound
Eeewww eeewwwww

People talk about me daily
Say I'm doin' this wrong, doin' this wrong
I don't worry, don't worry,
Don't worry, maybe,
'cause I'm writing out another bad song

Here's the dumbest song
That ever could be
Really smells like feces
Won't you play it, please?
Crummy-crummy, crumby-cruddy, you will whine
Oh yeah, buddy, it's so bad it's a crime

Love how you handled the original song's "Really love your peaches, want to shake your tree" line ! LOL ! 555

Johnny D - Thanks, it was a lot of fun to write this one.

HOW... did I miss this when it came out? You left me a comment and everything... Well good job parodying both Joker and your own work. Any pacing issues I have about there being ENTIRE extra phrases is almost completely made up for by the quality with which each one bashes itself.

2nz, That's alright, I found yours initially because I saw "The Joker" on the day I expected mine to be posted, clicked the first one I saw and suddenly I'm looking at someone else's words and theme. One of the fun things about parodies is the different scenarios each one of our separate, twisted, tortured minds somehow conjure up.

Paul...I see that you hit a number of Steve Miller songs. This one is fun to write to. You did a very good job! 5's

Adagio - Thanks! I've had it in the back of my mind to do some more on Steve Miller's songs, but the area between the back of my mind and the part that actually gets around to accomplishing something has a rather big backlog of items...

I'm equally surprised that I've not seen this before...but I love it, Paul! I'm a big Steve Miller fan...but have yet to parody his work...now I don't need to, because you've done it well enough for both of us! Very very well done!

And this is why I read the comments section . . . a fun read.

Arwen - Many thanks! I'm still spinning my wheels a bit until my new PC gets delivered. Haven't had a chance to check out "...Fellowship" of LOTR trilogy as I promised. Possibly next week... Robert J. Pagliaro - Thanks! I had a lot of fun writing it...In fact the only real "bummer" was that I had a lot more additional verses that I couldn't fit in.

I'm a patient girl, Paul...just let me know when you've converted to the truth...I mean...watched the movie.

Stumbled on this gem, and I'm glad I did! Love the OS and I loved your take on it almost as equally.
