The Lyrics

Do you ever feel like this at work?
Well I don't know why I'm coming to work
'Cause the boredom's driving me quite berserk
And I'm staring at my monitor screen
Drifting into a Scott Adams daydream
Alice to the left of me,
Wally to the right, here I am,
Stuck in a Dilbert cartoon

Yes I'm stuck in a Dilbert cartoon,
And I'm forgetting 'bout the work I should do,
It's so hard to keep from losing my place
And my boss now has the PHB's face
Carol to the left of me
Topper to the right
Here I am, stuck in a Dilbert cartoon.

Well I think I'm in a drawing
Hearing advice from the Garbageman
Two-dimensionally boring
Crap that sounds just like PH,
B's.... (PH) B's.....

Trying to see some depth in it all,
But I have just seen Bob the Dinsoaur
And now Mordac's taken over my floor
I can't get to login any more
Liz to the left of me
Ratbert to the right
Here I am, stuck in a Dilbert cartoon.

Well I think I'm in a drawing
Hearing the latest of the CEO's plan
And I might have started snoring
As Catbert brings up an evil HR
Wheeze... wheeze...

Well I'm flying to Elbonia tonight,
With Phil the Prince of Insufficient Light
You can see my uvula when I yawn
Because I'm something that Scott Adams has drawn
Ted to the left of me,
Asok to the right, here I am,
Stuck in a Dilbert cartoon,
Mom to the left of me,
Dogbert to the right, here I am,
Stuck in a Dilbert cartoon,
Yes I'm stuck in a Dilbert cartoon,
Stuck in a Dilbert cartoon

Unlike Dilbert you're a father, so at least your dating skills are (or were once) better than sketchy. BTW, I hear that Dilbert's company is in charge of London Olympics' security...

Nice parody-555! I always thought, however, that Catbert stole the show in the comic :)

I would imagine that "Stuck in the Middle With You" is a very good tune to parody. Never occurred to me to try it.

I have to admit that I've only glanced at Dilbert a few times, but I do understand the basic Dilbert work experience. Forgetting 'bout the work I should do - I can relate. You can have three fives in your paycheck.

Scott Adams does a fantastic job of huorously capturing the frustrations of the cubicle environment, and this parody does a very good job of capturing that humor as well.

Thanks, everyone :-)

K1chyd - Olympic security does seem a bit like it's run by Dilbert's company, yes.. possibly they're doing the flags at football matches, too

Rob - Catbert is fantastically evil at times.. one of my favourite characters, too

Callmelennie - it's harder than it seems at first glance: you need to get a good title sub & hook (I think the comedian Ashley Frieze came up with the best one: "Chavs to the left of me, pikeys to the right, here I am stuck in a Lidl with you").

Merry - Dilbert has been a techie staple for decades.. http://dilbert.com/strips/comic/1995-04-03/

JJ - There are definitely times when it feels like I'm working in a Dilbert cartoon. All I need is the cubicle.

I've definitely had days like that!
