The Lyrics

Here is my month in review, from this time or thereabouts in April 2011, to the current time, mid-May 2011.

Another obscure 70s AM rock OS, YouTube for the OS found here: Click for OS.

BTW, I will be 31 on May 23rd, hoping to have another happy birthday. I'm not looking forward to turning 40...
Heavy sleep, migraine aches
Days when life will no sense make
Then comes a time, countless panic attacks
I've done way too much, or I ain't done jack
Oooh-oooh baby, 'tis been a long, long day
And who's to say how I'll be tomorrow
Then my A-C blows
Hundred bucks, there it goes
And I slept all day
Twice in the month of May...

I've had some mad, bad, screwed-up days
And a few good ones, here and there
Mad, bad, screwed-up days
And the 23rd, my big three-one

Middle of month, another bad day
Harassing e-mail, and I cried all day
Rent, tube, 'net, and neighborhood A
Phone, vet, bills suck all the way
Oooh-oooh baby, life's been so hard for me
But please don't make me pull the plug
The Rockstar drink, those cans I chugged
Soon things will look up and ball & chain, I won't lug

I've had some mad, bad, screwed-up days
And a few good ones, here and there
Mad, bad, screwed-up days
And the world's weight, on my back

I think I'm seeing, that things are turnin'
'Cause I feel much better, and more money earnin'
No longer mad, things are no longer bad
Keep sunny side up, before it turns cloudy-sad
Turn three-o soon, I'd really like to stay
But I'll remember this good year in my life

I had some mad, bad, screwed-up days
And some good, fun, happy, cheerful days
Mad, bad, screwed-up days
They are really not too bad at all
Happy, cheerful days
And now here's to many, many more

"Neighborhood A" is neighborhood association. I don't see how a violent crime and drug-ridden slum can have one, but my landlord insists on tenants paying dues for it.

Everyone pays dues for living in a crime-ridden slum. They're called "taxes". Wyandotte County (Kansas City) Kansas promotes its deficiencies to avoid becoming too overcrowded. You've got the weight of the world on your back. I carry mine up front in my belly. Last week I rolled my car window down and it wouldn't go up again. $350 I couldn't afford, plus having to change all my weekend plans. I hate power windows. Hope your next month is better. I remember my 40th birthday, or at least the party some friends had for me. It came at the end of a very rough year. 40 is not so bad. Try 50.

Welcome back, Andria! Nice to see you writing again! I heard this OS the first time today and enjoyed it and enjoyed your satire as well. This experience also explains what I had been going through after turning 31. You know, I wished I had been born in May because it's one of my fave months of the year. But April is also a good month to have a birthday on, too. At 31, I never thought that I would have my first mid-life crisis and felt that everything's different around me. I'm still without a husband, children, and my own family up to now. But after awhile, I gotten better. I learned to try new things after 31. And now I'm enjoying life. Also, nice to see the satire come to a happy ending as well. As always, 555.

Good to read your by-line, again...and a most creative theme idea..

Thanks, Patrick... taxes are pretty high around here. As for power windows, my car has them, but the truck I drive more nowadays doesn't, and neither does my van camper. CMM, thanks, this is a great OS, and I agree. I hope to do some summer camping and hiking this year... and AFW, thanks. Glad to see you here again.
