"Bummer Knees"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

Feel ‘em hurtin’walkin’ past a window
Crunchy creaky little sounds of spite
A nature plight, I hobble, you comprendo?
Pain it grows, every step I gripe

Bummer knees
Kick my be-hind
Howling at the poppin’ in my stride
Bummer knees
Make me un-spry
Making me go wobble, won’t subside

Maybe safer with some better foot care
An easy cushion, no more ouch from floor
But I know can’t find little footwear
Fate is mean and it makes me sore

Bummer knees
Bug me, can’t lie
Walking was the one thing I’d refined
Bummer knees
Aids my de-cline
Need a proper doctor, I can’t find

You say get walker
But that, friend, will fail
I must have hands that
Can grab onto rail

So I will moan
When the legs won’t work
Those disabled pairs
Need some spares that won’t hurt

Gettin’ tired a-waiting for a fixin’
Start looking for a spot to soothe
Start to spin a place that can hold me
No more walking when cocoon is through

Bummer knees,
I said good-bye
Change into a new form I find kind
Bummer knees,
Nature re-fines
Walking’s now a bore since I can fly.

Good one. Kinda gave me a disturbing image of Seals and Crofts flying around, though.

This is the bees knees.

Enjoyed this Warren, to a great OS. "Walking was the one thing I’d refined", heh heh, great line.

Surprise metamorphosis at the end -- extra props for that.

If this is real (before the end, d'oh), contact me: Been there, done that, got it fixed. New treatment, now fully approved. If just a premise, ignore and go back to first comment.

I, too, have bad knees...so could never marry again...couldn't handle the knee proposal

I'm starting to really notice how frequently I have to walk up the stairs, so I can relate...

The proposal is only once. It's all the "on your knees" afterwards that gets ya the arthritis, regardless of whether servicing or begging for "service". ;)

PP- Seals and Crofts flying around and playing very small mandolins. That would be entertaining and worthy of a Dali painting.

BOB- Having never seen a bee's knee, I will take it as a compliment and watch more closely on the Discovery Channel.

Peregrin- Thanks so much. I'm glad you picked up on that.

LepidopTTera- Thanks for the comments, and good to see you posting again. And as for the knees, they're both good, for now:

As man stood beneath his umbrella
A knee told the other patella
"Let's go out to France
And learn how to dance
To tuneage from Elvis Costella."

AFW- Yes, the fear of not being able to get back up again comes to mind!

Meriadoc- The wife and I have been going back and forth about downsizing to a ranch style home. Or perhaps a well furnished tent. Costwise, I'm leaning toward the tent.
