Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

Legendary punk rock club CBGB will be moving to Las Vegas after it closes up shop on Bowery in New York City on October 31 of this year. It's enough to make you wanna be sedated. The Ramones are among the legendary acts who are who they are today because of CBGB. Some other notes: KROQ (K-Rock) is a legendary rock radio station in L.A.; RS is Rolling Stone Magazine; CREEM (Cream) was a rock magazine from the sixties until about the 1980s (Thanks, Wikipedia!); crunk is a southern branch of hip-hop; The 100 Club is a club in England (Thanks, Wikipedia!); The Killers are those guys who did the song, "Mr. Brightside."
1, 2, 3, 4!

(Main riff)

Many, many, many more months to go
I wanna stay from Vegas
Why not Detroit
Somewhere rock 'n' rooo-oooll?
I wanna stay from Vegas
(Bleep) you, Roy & Siegfried
And Newton, name of Wayne
Stop it! Stop it! Stop it! Before I go insane
Will KROQ go to Nashville?
Will RS do the same?
Oh no, oh no, oh no

(Main riff)

Many, many, many more months to go
I wanna stay from Vegas
Why not L.A.
For punk rock 'n' rooo-oooll?
I wanna stay from Vegas
Goodbye, CBGB
Tell Elvis I said "Hey!"
Run away from Vegas before I go insane
Will Liverpool go hip-hop?
Will Bad Brains do the same?
Oh no, oh no, oh no

(Guitar solo)

Many, many, many more months to go
I wanna stay from Vegas
Sin City sucks
When you want Ramo-ooones
I wanna stay from Vegas
Farewell, CBGB
You'll never be the same
Once you go to Vegas, I think you'll melt your brain
Will CREEM come back as crunk now?
Will Hundred Club go glam?
Oh no, oh no, oh no

(Main riff)

Many, many, many more lyrics to go
I wanna stay from Vegas
Vegas ain't punk
Ain't no rock 'n' rooo-oooll
I wanna stay from Vegas
(The) Killers come from Vegas
And so does Newton, Wayne
Goodbye, CBGB, I think I'll go insane
Will KROQ go to hip-hop?
Will RS do the same?
Oh no, oh no, oh no

(Random ad libs)
I wanna stay from Vegas
(Random ad libs)
I wanna stay from Vegas
(More random ad libs)
I wanna stay from Vegas
(Another lyric of random ad blis)
I wanna stay from Vegaaaaaaas

Well done, nice timing. Funny song, I love Vegas, but it's not quite the fit I imagine. Then again, I wouldn't want to move to Detroit either!

Haven't been to Vegas, but I have been to CBGB, and can't imagine it working in the Nevada desert. 555
