Picket Gate father is Scabbard Sheath (or Sombra if you want to humanize him). His job is a lobbyist for a firearms manufacturer, and also works as a liaison for weapons contracts. Picket Gate's mother was Gale Nimbus who worked as a lawyer, specializing from misdemeanor cases, to larcenies, to murder trials. Any good relationship comes with compromise, and these two ended up agreeing mostly to the point of getting married. Anyways, Picket Gate was born to the second of a Blood Moon eclipse (almost as impossible as magic from equestria). There was complications in the delivery which caused her to die, while Picket Gate lived. At the age of 5, Scabbard (or Sombra), and Picket, once visited Nimbus's grave. When Picket asked why they were there, he said "This is your mother's grave, and you put her there." Picket Gate sobbed for hours and had a hard time sleeping for days before actually forgiving his dad for what happened. Yeah, I bringing childhood trauma and drama to Picket Gate's story. it would be later revealed that Scabbard (or Sombra) told his son, to protect a friend who was the surgeon, in the operating room when it happened. After visiting Nimbus's grave 1 month after this revelation, another child around the same age had her own loved one to mourn. Her name was Lightning Dust and she became Picket Gate's friend.

The analogy of "feet to your grave" is meant to convey the sense of living with a lie, and withholding the information so much that your conscience drags you down. I will leave the decision in the comments on who would be Picket Gate's father.
