The Lyrics

Well, today's the day. A new and unhelpful royalty law has gone into effect, now the royalty rates are soaring, and that means that internet radio is going to be destroyed. Here's my protest. I hope the law gets repealed. Please comment.
We don't need high royalty rates
We don't need music to die
No stupid high royalties on the web
Now the music is no more
Hey! Now the music is no more
Say goodbye, internet radio's gone
Say goodbye, internet radio's gone. (x2)

This is very surreal and got me thinking. AOL still offer their internet radio services, and I believe Realplayer does as well.

Back to the parody. It would have been even better if you added a couple of extra verses with different lyrics, and you also missed out the part "How can you have pudding if you don't eat your meat?". The pacing was good so I feel 522 is a sensible vote on this.

A positive sign as of 7/15 is that Soundscan is not going to punish the smaller services for the time being as long as they remain "in good faith negotiations" (whatever that means). They do plan to start incrementing the fees for biggies like AOL and Yahoo, however. 533 (serious topicality just doesn't amuse as much)

Oh! Sorry! I forgot the part about eating your meat! Okay, here's a rough parody: "How can we give celebrities money if we don't raise the rates!" I only hope that the radios can stay online so I can waste time listening to music.

That sounds pretty good. Why don't you resubmit the parody as I suggested then ask ChuckyG to remove this one? If you do that then i'll definitely improve my votes.

I'm not too sure about that. I don't really care to much about votes anyway. I just care I got message out.
