Parody Song Title:

"Put Your Foot In Your Mouth"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

Put your foot in your mouth when you put down Harry Potter
Put your foot in your mouth when you dis Lord of the Rings
Read the books for yourself
And you can talk with others rationally
Put your foot in your mouth when you don't give them a read

When Gandalf was the wizard gray
Believe the shire was still a haven
Still crawling on his knees
When Harry needed some savin'
Smeagol killed his friend, bifocals to mend
I must be confusing you
But I only read enough to take a guess
What gets them through

Put your foot in your mouth when you put down Harry Potter
Put your foot in your mouth when you dis Lord of the Rings
Read the books for yourself
And you can talk with others rationally
Put your foot in your mouth when you don't give them a read

Put your foot in your mouth when you mention Smeagol's daughter
Put your foot in your mouth when you state Frodo's the king
Read the books for yourself
And you can talk with others sensibly
Put your foot in your mouth when quoting Hermione

Put your foot in your mouth and they'll stand you in the corner
Put your foot in your mouth won't talk with you for a week
Read the books for yourself
And you can talk with others verbally
Put your foot in your mouth if you don't sit down and read
Put your foot in your mouth seems everyone else agrees
Put your foot in your mouth if your name is Timothy

Lord of the Rings: the book was better than the movie. Harry Potter: not as good as Lord of the Rings in either form. I have read both series through from cover to cover. J.R.R. Tolkien is a rare talent. J.K. Rowling is more a run-of-the-mill competent writer.

Man...I haven't been on the site forever. Um...I am a fan of both HP and LOTR.

This parody makes a fair point with cleverness and wit. Good job.

J.K. Rowling sure made more money then Tolkien and didn't waste her whole life on one book.

Very good, Tim... the flipside to this is that both titles have now created "Ringies" and "Potties"...a bit like Trekkies in their devotion. Oh well, everyone's gotta have a passion. btw...555

Hey "Critic," have you ever considered...as CRAZY as this might be...that some artists aren't in it for the money?

Regardless...you might want to do a LITTLE bit more research before you accuse Tolkien of writing only one book...
