i got my fishin' license...met the guys
we'll catch some big fish, we all theorize
well, i rang the wildlife station...the lake was cold
we gave the tires some chains, and off we go

well, its a mighty long way over hill and dale
but the fishin' is hot, though, its cold as hell
and we're glad that we've come, cause the trout bite so well
that's the way some men fish

well, we hit the fishin' hole...and fed 'em lunch
i cast my line out far...i had a hunch
some men prefer sea trolling...but that's too tame
my five pound filament...its more of a game

now, its a mighty big fee for fishin' boats
but the marlin's pretty, though they'll get your goat
if you hook up with one, its so hard to control
that's the way some men fish

or you shiver on docks, where the big waves roll
in a lake in the mountains, or an ice shanty hole

where the fish get caught, after fights so bold

we must leave the city, cause the lake's our goal
