NEW YEAR’S MANIA

DKTOS?
[Intro]

And that year goes on and on into our mem’ries,
And the sands of time are bound to move us on.
Ain’t found brand-new songs that satisfy my psyche,
When that ball drops, then I’ll just carry on.
When that ball drops, then I’ll just carry on.
When that ball drops, then I’ll just carry on!

[Movin’ On]

Movin’ on to a new year,
Partying until dawn.
All these folks, they might be changin’,
But I’ll just keep rockin’ on!

And that year goes on and on into our mem’ries,
And the sands of time are bound to move us on.
Ain’t found brand-new songs that satisfy my psyche,
When that ball drops, then I’ll just carry on.

[guitar solo]

And that year goes on and on into our mem’ries,
And the sands of time are bound to move us on.
Ain’t found brand-new songs that satisfy my psyche,
When that ball drops, then I’ll just carry on.

All these folks, they might be changin’,
Setting goals for this upcoming year.
But for now, I’m not so hasty,
I’m just movin’ at my own pace.

(New Year's) I actually have never heard of this band before. I really liked the OS. I'm on the fence of this particular parody. On one hand the pacing is excellent, on the other, it just didn't deliver enough funny. It had a few good lines, but not nearly enough. Not quite there yet. But good start.

(HOLIDAY) I agree with Blaydeman on everything except for liking the OS (which isn't your fault, I just didn't care for it).

(Holiday) I have to listen to the song before reading the parody, so I was expecting something totally epic. Having read the parody after, I came away a bit disappointed. The NYE sentiment is cool and I agree with it, but there was just nothing after that, particularly in repeating that chorus. verbatim

Thanks anyways. I appreciate the good sportsmanship. Better to get an okay vote than no vote or straight up 1s, I suppose...

Similar comments to what I see above. The pacing was great, the lines fit the topic, and varying the choruses would have helped, and just injecting more humor to it.

Interesting. . .never heard of the original song or band (I'm from Missouri so I'm a tad surprised) anyway--yeah Dylan, no real big ha ha moments, a repetitive song, the way you started off kinda left me expecting more. . .but great pacing!

Yeah, I know it gets repetitive, but hey, nobody did a Missouri parody before, so I just had to be the first one to jump on the wagon.
