Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

some farmers grow plants that the government don't condone
some farmers grow plants that the government don't condone
the crops raise from the ground...and in time they chop 'em down
profits soon flow...when weed, they grow

well, the young folks pay for the stuff they grow today, my friend
growin' corn's outta date...cause it really don't rate, like it'd been
its pot, they are a-choosin'...and more than just a few are cashin' in
and wearin' a grin

and they're rich because...
some farmers grow plants that the government don't condone
some farmers grow plants that the government don't condone
the crops raise from the ground...and in time they chop 'em down
profits soon flow...when weed they grow

you find those farmers thrivin'
they've really made a mark
they've swapped their fields of tall wheat
for a plant that folks can spark
the money they were losin'
is now piled up with ease
there's a trend on the rise
what a surprise here
no longer just longhairs...use weed
its puffed by all breeds
its something they need

and they're rich because...
some farmers grow plants that the government don't condone
some farmers grow plants that the government don't condone
the crops raise from the ground...and in time they chop 'em down
profits soon flow...when weed they grow
profits soon flow...when weed they grow
profits soon flow...when weed they grow

You gotta get Willie Nelson to record this. One time, the government came and confiscated some of his plants. And now you know why he had "Blue Eyes Crying In the Rain."

Very well done, Alvin. I like the way you retained "longhair(s)." I like parodies that vary the chorus of the OS, and I think you do, too. It would have been very difficult with this OS, but I think the parody would have been even better if you had.
