The Lyrics

yo funny song
Karaokes not the fun people laugh when you are done
Put your weary voice to rest dont you try no more...NO

(guitar solo)

Once you tried it cuz it looked so amusing
sounded horrible and people were booing
You tried to sing "Eye of the Tiger".... Couldn't sing that high..
I can't remember when I've had such a lame time
You couldn't read the words and sing at the same time..
And the audience was screaming...
I could hear them saaaaay...............

Karaokes not that fun
people laugh when you are done!
Put our weary ears to rest don't you try no more

(guitar solo)

You sang "La Bamba" then you sang "Locomotion"
You jumped around like you were having convulsions
and if you think it sounds alright man......
It surely means that you dont know
You sang some country then you sang songs from Grease now
You wouldn't stop so they're calling police now
Cuz you're disturbing the peace now.....
Can't you hear the people say?

Karaokes not that fun
people laugh when you are done!
Put our bleeding ears to rest don't you try no more......NO

(guitar solo)

KARAOKE!
And now everyones leaving
Now the place is almost empty....
And its all beacuse of you!!

Karaokes not that fun
people laugh when you are done!
Put your weary voice to rest
Don't you try........
Don't you try........
NO MOOOOOOOOORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(guitar solo)
awsum isnt it

Really fine job here, Bmang. It is quite funny - with the added bonus of reminding me of the first time I tried to do karaoke...I THOUGHT I knew how Van Morrison's "Brown-Eyed Girl" went and I THOUGHT that I could sing it...and I FOUND OUT that it's really not that easy of a song to sing after all. I was ALL over the place throughout most of it. You haven't heard "awful" until you've heard somebody TRY unsuccessfully to sing the "fa-la-la-la, la-la-la..." part. "Flat" and "off-key" were fully exemplified to all in attendance that evening. Just about halfway through the song the realization hits you that you are in WAAAAYY over your head and just absolutely stinking up the place, but you must go on...a very long minute-and-a-half as I recall, while at the same time doing a visual scan looking for someplace where you can hide or disappear as soon as you are finished. 5's ~ ~ ~

True life, too, Pat...as a tag line I went the next week (I was dating a girl who LOVED to do karaoke, so we did that on Tuesday night's for a long time) and after much hesitation located a song that didn't require much nuance and that I knew really, really well ("If You Want To Get To Heaven" by the Ozark Mountain Daredevils), and really did well...people were up dancing and stuff...girl friend was talking to other friends and turned around to see who was singing...surprise...we had a lot of fun later, too...but we can't say those things on this site anymore...lol...
