Thanks everyone. I see some have divided themselves into fan/not fan. I am a fan and a very strong one since the early 70's. Whilst I hate heaping crap on the game I love, there's one thing that non-fans complain about more than any other, and that it the diving/acting. As an Aussie, I was not thrilled that Italy won (as they knocked out out on the way - with an extremely dubious penalty given for a swandive...) - but I was thrilled they won the whole thing, as it gave me the impetus for the parody...and as a fan, I hate the acting too. Shame the song wasn't longer, the refereeing would have copped a serve as well. Idiots. ;-p

Though I used to play, I am not a pro-soccer fan, mostly due to the games are boring and the "acting/diving", and occasional stadium riot. I absolutely detested getting kicked in the shins intentionally (murder should be excused for kicking a guy in the shins) as that is worse than getting kicked in the jewels. I liked this though.

before I read your comment Pippin, I was about to redeem myself for yesterday's faux pas, by announcing that Pippin DEFINITELY wrote this one - because like you I was up at 3am-ish watching the Italian last-minutes dive - we were all dumbstruck - and the fact they eventually won the Cup gives us some logical argument to claim that we came (a virtual) second - 555
