Jose Feliciano

Parody Song Title:

"Police Nabbed My Dad"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

Police nabbed my dad
Police nabbed my dad
Police nabbed my dad
And confiscated his crystal lab

Police nabbed my dad
Police nabbed my dad
Police nabbed my dad
And confiscated his crystal lab

He's been condemned to a scary Christmas
Stuck in the peniten-tiary Christmas
But we'll pretend it's a merry Christmas
Hoping Santa posts his bail!

This is one of my favourites on the CD. Short, but good. :-) 555

Adagio: I'm glad you liked the pacing.
K1CHYD: I have to admit that Robert's cop-on-a-bullhorn ad-libs really added to the recording. Thanks again for getting the CD.

I think Bob Rivers also did a similar version, but who cares? lol..Hey Spaff...Im actully ordering another copy of your CD....for a Christmas gift! lol....I played Superfrog and Wreck of Ben and JLo for him along time ago and he loved it, so I giving him the CD lol

After we completed this song a few months back, I found out that Bob Rivers has one called "Police Stop My Car." I've heard it and, other than both of us locking in on the Police/Feliz sub, I don't think it's that similar. However, that experience caused me to change the way I write Christmas parodies: I now have to put all my ideas on hold until I check to see if Bob Rivers has done something similar, because the odds are that he has. I've had to scrap "Chipmunks Roasting on an Open Fire," "White Trash Christmas," and "The Buttcracker" (I kid you not) because Bob Rivers has already done them all! DAMN THAT BOB RIVERS AND HIS LITTLE DOG TOTO TOO.

P.S. Thanks, Billy, and if the order comes in today there's still a good chance that the CD will arrive by the big day.

Spaff, I still think those wouldn't be considered plagiarism. Might as well finish 'em.

Static: Nah, it wouldn't be worth it. People would always say HEY - BOB RIVERS ALREADY DID THE BUTTCRACKER. And they'd be right.

Uh, Spaff, not that this was bad, but I already did "Release Ravi's Dad" with a very similar theme. I'm not mad, but it is a little close for comfort. And no, Guy, that was not a slam. Darryl Dawkins, now THAT was a slam!

Hey Spaff, he has his own website. It wouldn't hurt to check there every once in a while to see what he's got going. http://www.twistedtunes.com

Aggro: Thanx. Michaelopedia: OK - I confess. When I was writing this parody last summer, I couldn't find a sub for the last syllable - Police nabbed my - what? But then I thought, you know, Mike P is going to submit a parody in December called "Release Ravi's Dad." EUREKA! DAD!!! So - thanks for the idea. And, just to warn you, right now I'm in the process of stealing a few more of your ideas that you haven't yet formulated.

Chipmunks Roasting on an Open Fire is my all-time favorite parody. I'd love to see how yours would have turned out. Anyway, great job with this one.

This band should not be aloud to perform at a Christmas parade for children. If they want to do it for adults where there is only adults ....than fine, but they performed this song at the 2011 parade. It totally takes away from the Christmas atmosphere and it was so loud that it hurt my kids ears. Please stay in the bars and produce your un-original music.
Spaff.com - December 22, 2011 - Report this comment
I have no idea which Christmas parade you're talking about - or which band - but if there was loud music and bars, I TOTALLY wish I had been there.

Spaff - This parody is timeless.

There was a man his name was Lang,
And he had a neon sign.
Since Mr. Lang was very old,
They just called it old Lang's sign.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Nice rhymes in there but you are a little skimpy on the lyrics - need more!
