Song Parodies -> "The Solar Radiation Poisoning Lament"

Original Song Title:

"Sunshine On My Shoulders"

 (MP3)
Original Performer:

John Denver

Parody Song Title:

"The Solar Radiation Poisoning Lament"

Parody Written by:

Parker Gabriel

The Lyrics

In all his praises of sunshine, Mr. Denver never once bothered to allow his audiences to think about the danger of skin cancer and premature aging from solar ultra-violet and infra-red radiations. But sad to say, solar radiation is poisonous--and potentially deadly to humans. Too many suntans or sunburns, besides, will also make you age prematurely as well as boost your risk for skin cancer.
Sunshine on my shoulders gives me sunburn
Sunshine in my eyes can make me blind
Sunshine on the water kills the fishes
Sunshine almost always makes me die

If I had advice that I could give to you
I'd give advice to stay out of the sun
If I knew a way to cut your lifetime short
I'd have to say that sunshine gets it done

Sunshine on my shoulders gives me sunburn
Sunshine in my eyes can make me blind
Sunshine on the water kills the fishes
Sunshine almost always makes me die

If there were a time when sunshine did no harm
I'd say that time is gone forevermore
If there were a hope that sunshine was all good
That little hope is dashed upon the floor

Sunshine on my shoulders gives me sunburn
Sunshine in my eyes can make me blind
Sunshine on the water kills the fishes
Sunshine almost always makes me die
Sunshine almost all the time makes me die
Sunshine almost always...
(makes me die)

I always thought of doing that song with the same theme. Great Job! Sunny set of fives...
