The Lyrics

Out near a grunge lake,
I need a bug break.
All of those barges haulin' that oil,
They've taken to wing,
Got them a grand fling,
Smell that swamp, it's intending to spoil.

Itchin' away again down in mosquitoville,
Waitin' back for the next strafer assault.
This place will flame, because those skeeters are lame,
As I show,
These welts that result.

It's not the dry season,
These bugs give good reason.
I cannot go cause I broke my canoe.
But I got all snooty,
And kicked in its booty,
Just can't be fixed not even with glue.

Itchin' away again down in mosquitoville,
Waitin' back for the next strafer assault.
This place will flame, because those skeeters are lame,
As I show,
These welts that result.

I bought me some hotshot,
Down at the quick shop,
Hit the seal, pop the fuse, watch the foam.
Still they cruise it's no wonder,
This can's such a blunder,
Find that antitoxin before I get gone.

Itchin' away again down in mosquitoville,
Waitin' back for the next strafer assault.
This place will flame, because those skeeters are lame,
As I show,
These welts that result.

And so, this place will flame, because those skeeters are lame,
As I show,
These welts that result.

"Some of the mosquitoes they got down there are twin-engine jobs." -- Sandy Koufax, talking about Houston...Then again, the mosquito is also the New Jersey State bird (and you thought it was the Eastern goldfinch)...

No, I thought it was the fly. :)

And your point is?
FYI - July 22, 2003 - Report this comment
The point is that another contributor to this site submitted a parody changing Margaritaville to Mosquitoville and less than a month later you're doing the same thing. Maybe nobody cares, obviously you don't.

Well excuuuuse the hell out of me there FYI or who ever the hell you are. Who died and made you the site admin? I happen to have 113 parodies out here and I have been on the site less than two months writing and every one of them including this one is original. So out of 10,000+ parodies out here I missed the fact that someone else had the same one here. If you want to address this 'problem' out here why don't you identify yourself, because no one knows who the hell FYI is. So I would suggest that if you don't write parodies out here then shut the hell up and if you do then identify yourself so I know who has a problem with me. And last I checked it is CGs job to weed out the duplicates.

I don't know who you are and I didn't have a problem with you, but now I do. Are you always such a prick?

You got hostile first. All I asked was what was your point? I don't like the insinuation that i plagiarized someone elses work. I was just unaware of its existence. I take pride in my originality. So unless you wish to identify yourself this will be the last that I communicate with you on this subject.

Nice job Sir DiRito. You get 5-5-5 from me. Also, 'FYI', whoever you are. Since you seem to be the new policeman for the "2 of the same titles," department, could you please go chew out all the 'Complicated' parodies enititled 'Constipated?' Geez.....

"Pacin' away again in GuyDiRitoville..." Sorry; I've been 'itching' to use that one for awhile. Great job matching the original again and pretty funny too. Also, I don't see a big problem with someone pointing out that someone else thought of an idea first; if you don't want it to happen you could always check before you spend any time writing it. Once again--good job, keep em comin'

The thing is I did look before I wrote that. There are a number of these out there but I missed that one. I would have done a different one if I would have seen it out there, in fact I was going to do just that and write one on DiRitoville. That was my drop back plan had I found the mosquito one out there. I did take note of another one out there called 'wastin' away again in deadserverville' which I think was the best of the margaritaville parodies. I even made some comments on it last night and still may do one on DiRitoville, hell I'm not shy. And anyone who wants to do a DiRitoville one, please be my guest. Just hope that Chucky lets it through if you do. `````````` Maybe I took it wrong when I read that comment. I asked an honest question and then got an answer that was in the form of an accusation, add to this that the person won't identify themselves just irratates the situation. I would take this fine from someone who writes parodies on this site. I figure they have the right to speak up about it. As far as I'm concerned this may be the 'one's guy' so why should I be nice about it? `````````` And thanks you guys for your support. And I will keep them coming. Tomorrow will be one about Odai Hussein. :)

Good song Guy. I also have no problem with you doing the same song, as long as you didn't get the idea from seeing his title. I've done the same thing a couple times by accident, and usually try to leave a comment if I notice it, but it's certainly not required. It's more to avoid some "FYI" from blasting me for using someone elses idea =)

When was this written? I was joking (on fb) about my Dad's song East Mosquitoville which was written off the cuff (or beer) during a lake party in the 70's 80's.......my pal shared your site. Our song was very specific to our lake and people at the party....your song is cute. ( btw...I never realized how universal the subject was....I have forgotten many of the words to our song...glad to see there are many others as substitute!) :-)
