The Lyrics

fightin' crime and crooks, are you...a deputy man
legend, are the things you did...its tall, that you stand
there ain't no one better...i'm your biggest fan
and i cut loose, when its rerun time...in mayberry land
its still fun today...i watch on my local station
diggin' it on my T.V....its my favorite recreation

and i laugh so long (and i laugh so long)
and i laugh so long (and i laugh so long)
and i laugh so long (and i laugh so long)
and i laugh so long (and i laugh so long)
on the floor, i roll (on the floor, i roll)
on the floor, i roll (on the floor, i roll)
on the floor, i roll (on the floor, i roll)
on the floor, i roll (on the floor, i roll)

barney fife...barney fife
how are you ?..thank you...you saved my life
barney fife...barney fife
how are you ?..thank you...you saved my life
barney fife...superstar
cool and cocksure, what a stud you are
barney fife...superstar
cool and cocksure, what a stud you are

tells you what he'll do...about the crime that won't stop
now, who would think he'd be such help ?... a peach of a cop
brother, he's just where its at...the man will go far
in this land, his fame is mountin'...he wears a silver star
don't you love a guy like that ?...lets make no mistake, here
he's the guy you need...when someone needs to meet their maker

and i laugh so long (and i laugh so long)
and i laugh so long (and i laugh so long)
and i laugh so long (and i laugh so long)
and i laugh so long (and i laugh so long)
on the floor, i roll (on the floor, i roll)
on the floor, i roll (on the floor, i roll)
on the floor, i roll (on the floor, i roll)
on the floor, i roll (on the floor, i roll)

barney fife...barney fife
how are you ?..thank you...you saved my life
barney fife...barney fife
how are you ?..thank you...you saved my life
barney fife...superstar
cool and cocksure, what a stud you are
barney fife...superstar
cool and cocksure, what a stud you are

Agree with AFW about the parody match-up...yeah, Barney Fife is ALWAYS great parody material. Got one in mind myself right now, still in nascent phase. Good stuff...5's ~ ~ ~

Saw what you want about Ol' Barn, at least he dressed better than Ralph Furley (Don Knotts' "Three's Company" character). The irony is that Furley dressed gayer than he ever (erroneously) thought Jack Tripper (John Ritter) was.
