Parody Song Title:

"You Bought A Farm In Green Acres"

Parody Written by:

Paul Robinson

The Lyrics

Well, this "smooshie" certainly trivializes a great and very serious OS piece - the title track off my favorite Jefferson Airplane album, "Crown of Creation" from 1970...combined here (more or less) with the Theme jingle from the sitcom "Green Acres" from the early-to-mid 60's...{bracketed} lyrics in the instrumental section are additional to sing with the instrumentals there.
[instrumental intro]

You...
just moved down to Green Acres
You...
bought a farm in Green Acres
And you married a Gabor

[instrumental break]

Soon...
you'll be meeting some hillbillies and farmers
and you'll have some crops that you planted
In the Spring you will see blossoms and some vines

[instrumental break]

{You will see some vines, yeah, in the Spring}
{yeah, and you will feel fine}
{the peaceful life is for you , dude}
{Yeah, but your dear Wife does not like it here...}
{Yeah, Green Acres is the place to be}
{Oh, Farm livin' is the life for me}
{But your wife does not care for it, dude...}
{So...}

About to go out of your mind
Your wife still craves fashion designs
But now and for sure quite some time
You'll be spending lots of time with bumpkins

[instrumental break]

{time with bumpkins out here on the farm}
{pickin' seeds from pumpkins...}
{while sittin' on your rump, then...}
{talkin' about somethin'...}
{Yeah, that old "Peaceful LIfe"}
{Free from all strife...}
{Except from your...}
{Said, except from your...}

Wife is strange
She still prefers shiny rocks
likes Fashion Page
she scoffs when I go hiking
This is insane
My wife's not satisfied
with peaceful life

Fine tribute to the only one of those Paul Henning hillbilly shows that I really liked. It reminded me of a short story by Sinclair Lewis called "Land". It was about a man who had a lifetime dream of being a farmer.

Thanks, 2Eagle...Yeah, the Eddie Albert character really did have that "dreamer" quality to him...underneath all the frustration of dealing with Eva Gabor's loony character...
