The Lyrics

...and you thought a parody of a drum solo was crazy...
bodda bomp, bodda bomp, bodda bomp, bomm
bodda bomp, bodda bomp, bodda bomp, bomm

dut duddit duddit duddit duddit duh duh duh
dut duddit duddit duddit duddit duh duh duh

nuh nuh nuh nuh nuh, nuh nuh nuh nuh nuh
nuh nuh nuh nuh nuh,nuh nuh nuh nuh nuh
nuh nuh nuh
nuh nuh nuh nuh nuh, nuh nuh nuh nuh nuh
nuh nuh nuh nuh nuh,nuh nuh nuh nuh nuh
nuh nuh nuh

Who's the Greek mythologic dude
Who did what most would consider rude?
(Oedipus)
You're damn right

Who is the man
Married his own mom, killed his old man?
(Oedipus)
Can ya dig it?

Who's the cat when he found out
Tore his own two eyes right out?
(Oedipus)
Right on

So now this cat Oedipus is a blind mother--
(Shut your mouth)
But I'm talkin' about Oedipus
(Then we can dig it)

He's a mythologic man
And no one understands him but some scholars
(Oedipus Rex)

555 just for the most freakin' funny line in the whole parody:

He's a mythologic man
And no one understands him but some scholars

Oh, man! I thought i was the only one who wrote a parody song about Oedipus! It's a parody of "Particle Man". by They Might Be Giants. I think I put it up here. Very funny song you wrote. Give it 5 outta 5.

Whoa, mama, this was a good one. I guess there is honor among Thebes. And I'm surprised this didn't come from the Alexander stockpile.

So we've got two "Shaft" parodies today - one on Shemp and one on Oedipus. What an odd example of synchronicity! One thing about Oedipus, as Tom Lehrer pointed out: He sure knew who a boy's best friend is . . . ! Great parody!

This is reallllllllly hilarious. However, Oedipus is more than (as you say) a myth for scholars. He's a universal symbol for a man who can't understand the nature of his sexuality. Concrete manifestations abound. See "Bush, George Walker". All 5s here.

This was terrible. This could have possibly been one of the worst 'parody's I have ever read in my entire life. I'm sorry for those 525 people that wasted their lives reading this, including myself. Thank you, for that time I will never get back of my life. Quit writing. Forever.

Nice try. Even at your best though, you failed in more way I would have ever thought imaginable. Please quit. Reading this made me want to follow Oedipus' lead, and gauge my eyes out as well. Did you honestly expect someone to read out the DRUM solo!? To be honest though, that may have been the best part of the entire parody. -5.
