My lunch arrived just at the midday
the bike boy brought it in the usual way
He said it was from the new foreign place
and said people really appreciate its taste
Now I am not a prejudicial type

I put it on a plate and called our dog
Said, "Here, Rex, chew this and not my clog"
He flung his tongue and sniffed it around
he approached the plate just like a good hound
But when he had a taste, I'm sure we'll get

Our son came home later in the day
I asked him if the school food was okay

I know school food, but this is hard to beat
He poured it on plate, and he let it be:

And as I looked at his face, it occurred to me
