The Lyrics

The legend lives on from the Wikipedian minds
Of the editors they call the finest of kinds
The Wikipedians, it's said, they were so wise
Editing pages, beneath the digital skies
With a load of knowledge, they set sail one day
To create the world's content in their own special way
Their keyboards clacked on through the day and the night
As they edited articles with all of their might

The editor's watch, it seemed safe and sound
But changes were happening beneath the background
The trolls were lurking, their mischief in sight
They challenged the facts and started a fight
And later that night when the mods intervened
To calm down the chaos and keep it clean
They knew it was too late, for the damage was done
The wreck of the Wikipedia editors had begun

Does anyone know where the knowledge did go?
Down the rabbit hole, where the misinformation grows
The mods tried their best, but it's a never-ending quest
In the wreck of the Wikipedia editors
The trolls and the vandals, they danced in delight
As the editors battled throughout the night
They fought for the truth, they fought for what's right
But the wreck of the Wikipedia editors is still in sight

In a virtual sea, where information's vast
They sail through the data, so vast and so fast
With each new edit, a chance to make it right
But the wreck of the Wikipedia editors looms tonight
Does anyone know where the knowledge did go?
Down the rabbit hole, where the misinformation grows
The mods tried their best, but it's a never-ending quest
In the wreck of the Wikipedia editors

And the pages they edit, they tell the tale
Of a never-ending battle, where truth may prevail
With hope in their hearts and their keyboards in hand
The Wikipedia editors will continue to stand
For the knowledge they share and the facts they defend
In the digital world, they'll fight to the end
To keep the information flowing free and wide
In the world of Wikipedia, they'll always take pride

George&GermaineBriantFan chooses his parody topics from random Wikipedia entries. What else would explain the bizarre choices of topics? (Choice Hotels, Arby’s, Dish Network, Innovation Refunds, Red Eye Radio, Sally Eilers, George Briant, etc.)

Don’t know but thanks for your comment.

The Parody Author, this is just Phil Ossifer making yet another one of his trademark critiques of my parodies. He claims, without any evidence to back it up, that the topics of my parodies come from “random Wikipedia entries” and goes on to pick seven subjects that I have parodied before. Four of them are companies that have aired radio and TV ads, one is a late-night syndicated trucking show, another is Sally Eilers, a Classic Hollywood actress, and finally, George Leon Briant, a WWI veteran, who doesn’t even have a separate Wikipedia page. The claim that all seven of these subjects would have randomly come to me by pressing the “Random” link on Wikipedia is so absurd and illogical, that the odds are too great to calculate. To clarify, I have NEVER used a random Wikipedia page as inspiration for any of my parodies, and I have NEVER indicated that I have done so. Phil Ossifer saw that this parody had the word “Wikipedia” in the title and used it as an opportunity to bash my parodies, as if most readers haven’t heard it all before.

To G@GBF, thanks for your comment. My main concern is the troll who keeps leaving bogus votes in multiples of 13. I’ve tried bringing it to ChuckyG’s attention but nothing seems to get done.

"Troll"? You are WAY TOO KIND to this loathsome POS, whoever he/she/it is.

I just submitted this parody and acknowledging comments. I’m not the troll here

I think the troll comment is directed at the fool who is contaminating our voting system. As to the referenced fool, why do you do this? Nobody wants your 13 up votes. And nobody is upset by your 13 downvotes either; aside from the fact that you are ruining the feedback mechanism

Dear Qwerty, thats the point I've been trying to make for a long time. Nobody cares if they get a set of 13 bogus 111 or 555 votes. Why can't the voting system be removed altogether as its totally pointless now?
