Another 2020 one. I was trying to branch out with how I wrote songs and viewed the Pandemic. So I wrote this one from the perspective of the Coronavirus.
At first you were afraid, you were terrified
Kept thinking I could never spread
If folks just stayed inside
But then you spent so many nights
Thinking how lockdown was wrong
So I grew strong
And I learned how to move along
And so I'm back
And hard to trace
I came back strong and now you're pissed
The last five months feel like a waste
You should have listened to that Doc
You should have stayed home from the beach
If you'd known for just one second
You'd be struggling to breathe
Go on now, go, head to the bar
The schools are fine now
Just leave that mask inside your car
Weren't you the ones
Who couldn't sit home occupied
You think I'd just crumble?
You think I'd disappear in time?
Oh no, not I, it's how I thrive
Oh, as long as you don't wear a mask
I know I'll stay alive
Please don't live your life in dread
It's that much faster that I'll spread
And I'll just thrive

It takes all the strength you have
Just to stay apart
Keep trying hard to give economies
A good jumpstart
And you spent oh-so many nights
Just watching Netflix by yourself

But now my shedding rates up high

So much worse than just the flu
And so I felt like dropping in

Well, now I'm saving all my spreading
