The Lyrics

Anyone who fears being buried alive...look away...now!
Once I was afraid of being buried alive
It's clear that I can never live on carbon dioxide
And my shouting isn't working, it's just using up my air
I'm in despair
You know this isn't really fair
Stuck on my back in a small space
And now my sanity is fading, almost gone without a trace
Guess I must accept my fate
That during the long surgery
The doctors failed to even notice the heart monitor was faulty

And now they've dropped
Me in the ground
Can I come out now
Wonder how long 'til I'm found
I'm so sad because I'm buried six feet deep
I start to grovel
'Cos in the dark, I'm petrified
It's time that I met my demise
And I know if they had checked the plug
I know I'd be alive
I've had so much more to give
In my many years to live
I'll close my eyes, for my demise, hey, hey

Now it seems that five more minutes have just flown right by
I'm thinking how much longer will it take before I die
I'm just thinking 'bout how easy
A crematorial would be
I cannot breathe
A numbness takes control of me
I think that I can see the light
I'm being pulled by unseen forces and a voice that's so polite
Rather this than being stuck inside a coffin filled with worms
Now I know I'm dead for certain, but I know I'll come to terms

And now they've dropped
Me in the ground
Can I come out now
Wonder how long 'til I'm found
I'm so sad because I'm buried six feet deep
I start to grovel
'Cos in the dark, I'm petrified
It's time that I met my demise
And I know if they had checked the plug
I know I'd be alive
I've had so much more to give
In my many years to live
I'll close my eyes, for my demise, oh

And now they've dropped
Me in the ground
Can I come out now
Wonder how long 'til I'm found
I'm so sad because I'm buried six feet deep
I start to grovel
'Cos in the dark, I'm petrified
It's time that I met my demise
And I know if they had checked the plug
I know I'd be alive
I've had so much more to give
In my many years to live
I'll close my eyes, for my demise, hey, hey

Now I look down on the world from the clouds above
And what I saw was so ironic that it made me laugh
They found the kinks in that machine and started digging up the grass
But found I'd passed
I shouted "You're too late, dumbass!"
They looked so shocked, but didn't care
They covered up my grave and wandered off as if it wasn't there
But having found this out has put my mind at ease
I could come back just to haunt you, but 'til then I rest in peace

And now they've dropped
Me in the ground
Can I come out now
Wonder how long 'til I'm found
I'm so sad because I'm buried six feet deep
I start to grovel
'Cos in the dark, I'm petrified
It's time that I met my demise
And I know if they had checked the plug
I know I'd be alive
I've had so much more to give
In my many years to live
I'll close my eyes, for my demise, hey, hey

I'm not 100% convinced on the pacing in parts, but other than that, it's dead good :-)

I assume you're using dead light-heartedly :-P

Yeah, only some problems with pacing, but not enough to deprive you of straight 5's.

I can't gurantee the pacing, either (not familiar enough with the song to check), but this was a rather great and grim tale, worthy of Poe. (Disco-Poe!?) Not bad at all.

ABC--I also stumbled on pacing a couple of times...but it's funny enough to make it work the read...=) Nice idea...

(ABC05) I would have liked more variation in the choruses but, it's a minor enough issue for me to overlook. I thought it was well written otherwise...555
