Original Performer:

Parody Song Title:

"In Hollywood"

Parody Written by:

Freddie C.

The Lyrics

It's the same as On Broadway, but with a West Coast kind of feel.
They say the neon lights are bright in Hollywood
They say there's always magic in the air
But when you're walking down the street, and you ain't had enough to eat
The glitter rubs right and you're nowhere

They say the women treat you fine in Hollywood
But looking at them just gives me the blues
'Cause how you gonna make some time, when all you got is one thin dime?
And one thin dime won't even shine your shoes

They say that I won't last too long in Hollywood
I'll catch the Greyhound bus for home, they all say
But they're so wrong, I know they are, 'cause I can play this here guitar
And I won't quit till I'm a star in Hollywood

Freddie C - I didn't vote. It's really too much of the original song here. It looks like only a couple of words were changed. I'd suggest trying to find a different slant on the story, you know, something unique about Hollywood...I used to work there for about 4 years from 1981-1985 on Hollywood Blvd., managing the Supply Sergeant surplus store, and I know there was plenty of unique and odd stuff to talk and write about going on back then. Hang in there.
