The Lyrics

Last July, I was driving home from work when my local rock station played a brand-new rock song, which I thought was awesome, although I couldn't quite place the singer. After the song, the DJs revealed that the song was "Blow" by Ed Sheeran, Chris Stapleton and Bruno Mars. I was already familiar with Chris Stapleton due to his awesome song "Midnight Train to Memphis", and I even liked some of Bruno Mars' stuff. What really blew my mind, however, was that Ed Sheeran - whom I had previously known for such garbage as "Shape of You" and "Galway Girl" - was the main performer on this awesome new track. As such, "Blow" became the ONLY Ed Sheeran song I've ever liked. Fast forward to this month, and I was listening to "Blow" again in addition to this OS, and that made me think: if he can transcend the rubbish that regularly floods retail store PA systems nowadays to produce a kickass rock song, why can't other pop stars do the same? Hence, we now have this. Enjoy the parody! DKTOS?
Who says a house act can’t play blues music?
Who says a big band can’t play synthpop?
(Can’t play synthpop?)
Who says a pop star can’t play rock? Oh yeah!
They’re gonna play that rock so loud,
They’re gonna flabbergast the crowd,
Just watch them rock, watch them rock!

They really love to play,
They really want to stay fresh.
Won’t they take the time
To get headbangin’ on their minds?
Leather gets you so inclined.
Yeah! Yeah!

They’ve been around for such a while,
(Such a while)
It’s easy to just change their style,
(Change their style)
When pop gets dumber and reviled,
(And reviled)
Grab an axe before I change that dial.
You can count their hits!
One, two, three, four, five.

People think ‘cause they’re rockin’ out,
Their hits done stopped, they hit a drought.
Therefore, they picked up on something with grout.
That’s just not true at all; they still got clout.
They’re gonna scream and shout,
Yes, and that’s what it’s all about.
Bob Dole.

Babe, I love your way!
Play today!
