The Lyrics

A little (fictional) tale of irony...
Well, my house flooded, basement's at sea
It rose two fathoms by a quarter to three
Leaking heater, gonna drain my finance.
My house flooded, I'm not covered...

Agent says to read that line, opted not to have last time,
Mainly you coverage blows.
Now if you slip me five, I will white it out in no time.
You gotta know now your payin' for my chateau.

It's just what I do, your payoffs fund agents dreams come true.
Just pay and soon, we'll dry this basement like you never knew.
That man, he's cold blooded, drained me from green.
I hope to one day get you plundered like me.
Country's crazy, all the rules they will scratch.
World's cold blooded, feel scudded.....

How he sleeps at night, one day I will give him frights!
That's just Karma you see?
That day came his name got assigned, audit thrills, my Karma sign!
See now, jail time now drama? It sure looks that way to me.
Your chateau's enought. Deed sign quickly or just call my bluff.
It's a losing fight. Do you want your love from jail tonight?

See my house flooded, screwed me so see,
I have revenge burning inside of me.
Rat bag agent, will you pay me or chance?
Cell block's commin', just try bluffin', I'm not...

Now it's what we do, I'll arrange a cellblock rendezvous.
So, on this your screwed, unless you sign away to me from you!

Now, I'm not flooded, chateau's in Nice. *(pronounced /ni's)
My phone is ringing from my agent who sees,
Water's rising, hope you are well in France.
His house flooded, he feels scudded....

Wine flooded, vineyard is nice
Sun flooded, enjoying warm light
Girls topless, views are making me smile
Prime address, beach is hot and girls, wild
I shuddered, what I lived at one time
Now uttered, new insurance is fine
Heard muttered, old house needs a wring
Not bothered, agent's new downswing .........

SOTM: Great job and interesting story told here. Nice title switch and not just repeating it each time for the chorus, nice work!

What Abbott said! Top notch pacing. This 80s band is underdone here on Amiright but you did them more than justice.

I actually was pleasantly surprised by this one. Its hard to make a topic like this work, but you did, and this is easily my favorite Foreigner song, one of my favorites 70s hits period--great job Mark

(SOTM) Some of the sentence structure here was a little...odd. And is "scudded" an actual word? Those little quibbles aside, this was very amusing. It helps that I'm a sucker for stuff involving irony. 555 for you!
Mark Scotti - December 31, 2010 - Report this comment
Thanks to B.A,D. amd bobpie. "Scudded" was my made up word, in reference to the "Scud" missles used in operation Desert Storm...
