The Lyrics

It seems that "Bruce" is a misheard lyric.. shame.. I really like the idea of a balrog named Bruce (which is as good a first line for a limerick as you might think of)
You got us running through the Moria mine
You got us thinking we won't get out in time
You shall not pass
No, no, no, no, no
I'll stand in your way
And I am Gandalf the Grey
You shall not pass

You're just a balrog with a fiery whip
You're going down, deep down - have a nice trip
You shall not pass
No, no, no, no, no
That's a nice firework display
But I'm still Gandalf the Grey
You shall not pass

You shall not pass, Bruce
You shall not pass, Bruce
You shall not pass, Bruce
You shall not pass

I'll stand in front and bash my staff on the ground
The bridge collapses, balrog, you're going down
You shall not pass
No, no, no, no, no
Come on, make your play
Because I'm Gandalf the Grey
You shall not pass

And now you're tumbling into the abyss
I'm standing up here, taking the piss
You shall not pass
No no no no no,
You listenin' OK?
I'm Gandalf the ****ing Grey
You shall not pass

You shall not pass, Bruce
You shall not pass, Bruce
You shall not pass, Bruce
You shall not pass

What's that I feel, my ankle making a slip?
Damn, wrapped around it is the tip of your whip
I'm going down
No no no no no no no no,
I sent you to Hell,
But now I'm falling as well
We're going down.

We fought and tumbled for a hell of a time
At least the Fellowship got out of the mine
You didn't pass
No, no, no, no, no
So what's left to say?
Yeah.. I'm ****ing Gandalf the Grey
You shall not pass.

Great work Phil. Awesome subs and a very deserving moment to capture in a parody. I'm going to blindly accept 'Bruce' as the balrog's name from now on. I recently re-read your very fun addition the H2G2 parody tribute. It makes me happy when you cover the sci-fi greats.

One Parody to rule them all, One Parody to find them, One Parody to bring them all and in the darkness, bind them! In short, great work!

I knew what this was gonna be about just by reading the title. Well, I suspect I was reading "Phil" a bit too... ;)

:-) Thanks everyone.. now all I need is a suitable location to film the video.

Just realized I forgot to include my last idea for the penultimate line - I reckon it should be "Don't f**k with Gandalf the Grey" instead. Looking forward to performing this one in the near future.

Glen - Trying to think of what other SciFi greats I've done - a couple of Discworld parodies I'm not totally happy with; one about Arthur C Clarke; the odd H2G2.. and shedloads of LOTR stuff.
