The Lyrics

A Long, Long Time Ago
Before I Was Even Born
Peace Was In This Decade
And I Knew About That Time World
That No One Believes Me In A Hour
And Maybe They'll Be Smiling For A While

But 63, Made Us Crying
With Every President That Was Dying
Bad News On The Doorstep
I Couldn't Take One More

I Never Met That President
When I Heard About His Widow Bride
Was Killed In His Fancy Car
The Life Of The 60's

So Bye Bye Mr. Kennedy Guy
Came The Beatles And The Stones, But The Beatles Broke Up
And Good Ol' Boys Singing Dylan And Folk
Saying This Will Be The Day That We Die
This Will Be The Day That We Die

Did You Sing A Hard Day's Night
When No Big Fans Came To A Sight
If The Beatles Sang It Now
Now Do You Believe In Rock And Roll
Can Music Be Played At Montery
And Can You Have A Daydream Believer

Well I Know Kennedy's Brother Died
'Cause This Time In The Hotel Kitchen
Martin Luther King JR.
Is Now Soul Doctor

The Archies Were A Cartoon Band
With A Teen Pop Music And Bubblegum
But We Knew That Was Somthing New
The Life In The 60's

We Started Singing

*Chorus*

Now In 65, They Were Changes Made
Bob Dylan Sang Like A Rolling Stone
To Make Fun Of Mick Jagger
When Bob Dylan Sang With Joan Baez
A Tune He Borrowed From Jan & Dean
In A Voice That Came From A Sore Throat

And While The Beach Boys, Was Surfing Here
Jan & Dean Stole Their Funny Tune
Surf City, Dead Man's Curve
No Sorries Were Said

And While Lennon Read A Book On Peace
The Beatles Sang On Ed Sullivan
And We Sang Let It Be
The Life Of The 60's

We Were Singing

*Chorus*

The Monkees Were Beatle Rip Offs
The Byrds Flew Off With Dylan's Songs
Eight Miles High And Falling Fast
It Landed On Buddy Holly's Clone
Tommy Roe's Sheila
Yogi Berra Tried To Catch The Ball
Walter Cronkite Annouces Appollo 13

Now TV Was Important
While The SGT.s In Vietnam
Gump Got Shot In The Butt
Oh But He Never Got A Cut
The Flying Nun Was Played By Sally Feild
Stephen Stills Was In Buffalo Springfeild
The Life Of The 60's

We Liked Singing

*Chorus*

Oh, And They Were All In One Place
My Generation Was Sung By WHO
With Happy Jack #2
So Come On
Jack Be Nimble
Jack Be Quick
Jack Black Was Born Today
'Cause Fire Is A Hendrix Lovin' Song

Oh, As We Watched Him On A Stage
Left Hands Were Ready To Play
Woodstock Is The Show
It Was Not That Slow

And As The Flames Fly High On The Guitar
Hendrix Was Like Going Far
I Saw Clapton Laughing With Delight
The Life Of The 60's

She Was Singing

*Chorus*

I Saw A Girl Who Loved Cream
Was Eric Clapton's Fan
She Had A Real Big Dream
I Went Down To The Local Show
And I Saw Richie Havens Play At My Home
But He Played A Song I Didn't Know

And In The Seats The Kiddies Cried
The People Cried And Teachers Lied
But Not A Word Was Spoken
Teen Hearts Were Broken

And The Big Thing We Admire Most
One Small Step For Man
One Giant Leap For Mankind
The Life Of The 60's

And I Was Singing

*Chorus 2 Times*

That vote of 5-5-5 was from me earlier today, Jessy. Like I have said before, I like the "Zen" quality of your parodies - your parodies jump freely from one image to another image, from one thought to another thought, in a very spontaneous, random, unpredictable way...... I honestly like that - and this "American Pie" parody is just as good! And I like your technique of Capitalizing every word - that forces the reader's mind to keep "re-setting itself" mentally back to the feeling of being at the start of a new sentence, of a new thought - again, very, very "Zen".

That's OK Jessy, there was no way you could have known, because I did not write a comment when I voted.
