The Lyrics

This, in my opinion, is the best song in my opera and it is also the last one i will post until may. It is sung by the peanut butter (this being part of a very strange dream peanut butter in a refrigerator is believable)
About five days ago
Is the time i remember when
The fridge got some new food
And it was all from a store
Where the human hadn't been before
And some containers had quite an attitude
Now ketchup was a nasty feller
Who saw mustard's color and called him yeller
And tempers started rising
So it was not surprising
That they gave each other dents
Which started a chain of events
Which led to a tragic incident
The day the mustard died

Chorus: So... cry, cry that is just what I
Would be doing, yeah boo-hooing if i had an eye
What happened recently upset me that's no lie
And what will the man put on his fries?
What will he put on his fries?

I know that the amount of fear
Must have been high around here
After the relish got knocked down
Which wasn't provoked in the least
Except that relish wanted peace
An idea that made Ketchup wanna frown

When ketchup knocked Relish to the ground
A spill followed a loud sound
Then ketchup started to fume
And said more would meet their doom
Art least that's what Butter said he said
But recently I have been lead
To believe Butter had lost his head
The day the mustard died
Which got me singing

Chorus

I was gung ho against the condiments
Thought i needed to attack in self-defense
Good speakers can have that effect
I thought i had fought to end all strife
And was lucky to escape with my life
While many others had been lost or wrecked
I thought I was involved in righteous killin'
But I was fighting for the greater villain
Ketchup was a bully sure
But butter is evil pure
While my statements might make butter mad
Butter hating me'd make me more glad
That being on the good side of the bad
Like when the mustard died
And I am singing

Chorus

I feel bad real sad because of what I did
I hit the mustard so hard he lost his lid
Yellow oozed out and quite soon he was dead
Neutral foods watched him die
Thinking, "If I helped him, I
Might get on the bad side of the spreads
No one feared condiments getting offended
Mustard's was the last life to be ended
And that's why no one tried
To help the losing side
Ham thought his life was guaranteed
If mustard's pleas he did not heed
It turns out ham was wrong indeed
The day the mustard died
And I was singin'

Chorus

Oh and there we were confused and scared
Those of us whose lives were spared
Just the fact that it was over made us glad
And ham was picked up by the man
Who threw ham in the garbage can
He thought ham soaked with mustard would taste bad
Well ham's a little guilty sure
For letting mustard knock on heaven's door
But not as guilty as I
I made both of them die
And as I watched them both get thrown out
It really made me want to shout
My life's worst day without a doubt
was when the mustard died
And I was singin'

Chorus

I met a spread who fought a war
While everyone else was sick of gore
What he wanted was to fight one again
Although the first got out of hand
He didn't seem to understand
War sounds as good as the lion's den
The man stared at us in disbelief
That we brought upon ourselves such grief
He seemed to be assumin'
That that was only done by humans
While jelly didn't want to fight
She left earth on a one way flight
I decided war just isn't right
The day the mustard died

Chorus 2X
