I had 2 cats growing up
Murray, an excellent mouser
And then there was Nelson the black cat
He wasn’t very fast
He was also very lazy
And relied on Murray’s kills
But one day Nelson made the iconic sound
The “I brought you a present” meow

Dropping it on the mat on the porch(ini)
My parents were laughing so much
They didn’t think to get the camera
When it all was over
They had to find get rid of it
They feared it was a toadstool
And he never hunted again

My next cat Trevor was not as nice
Always bringing in dead mice
But occasionally it would be even worse
Giving us a headless possum
I’d probably faint at the sight of it
Thankfully I only heard the stories
I only wish I had a vegan hunter
Just like Nelson big boy
