The Lyrics

Well, this is the opening track on my "Crosby Cooks for CSNY" Parody Project (I think that's the name I will use), which will be to use all ten songs on the group's "Deja Vu" album with a theme involving David Crosby doing the cooking for the whole group. Actually, I have already completed and submitted two of them so far ("4+20 Blackbirds Baked In This Here Pie" and "Crosby Cooks at Our House"). Don't know what I'm going to do with those other seven songs yet, but I love working "Without a net". I do, however, have some ideas laying around here somewhere...guess we will find out as time goes on, eh?
(Instrumental Intro)

One morning Dave woke up
and he said
"Hey, here's a thought
Check this out, it's far-out
this great cookbook
that I just bought
From this day
meals will be great
I'll cook them all"

Graham looked at Stephen
and his face
was one big pout
Neil Young looked bummed
lips moved
no words came out
Oh what a groove
Dave makes our food
Say, guys, let's eat out

The food on our table
it smells bad
an awful lunch
You eat this, feel sickness
next moment
you're blowing chunks
You retch and puke
all night you're on the stool
Should have ate out

(Instrumental break)

Let's eat out
David's cooking
has us puking
Let's eat out

(Instrumental break - leading to "Questions" segment)

Where are we going to eat tonight?
Hope that it will be tasty
Anything's better than David's stuff
Eating his garbage wastes me
All this driving 'round is bugging Steve
He is starting to get peeved
"Hey guys, you're annoying me"

(Instrumental break)

Graham, where should we go tonight?
What should we eat?
Where can we go and dine
to have a meal that won't make us whine?
Neil Young suggested 'Taco Bell'
Graham told him to go to Hell
Sounds like it is up to Steve

(Instrumentals to Fade)
