The Lyrics

The Democrats won't stand a chance in 2004 against Bush. And my band is called "Baboon Rising" often confused with this song.
I see a baboon rising
I see mad Dean on the way
I see record growth and earnings
I see good times today

Democrats aren't too bright
They're bound to regulate my life
There's a baboon on the rise

I see all the smoke they're blowin'
They think we are all doomed
I see the economy is growin'
George Bush re-election soon

Democrats aren't too bright
They're bound to regulate my life
There's a baboon on the rise

Dems go cry to their mother
It's time for them to go and cry
Looks like things are getting better
Time for Kerry to say goodbye

Heh,you know what's funny is Bill Tong did the same title for this a while back, only in his case it was the exact opposite slant, Bush was the "Baboon" in question.

You see the economy growing? Have you been to the unemployment office lately? Bush will be lucky to take a single non-small state outside the Confederacy. And he will lose Florida fair and square -- again.

A few good lines here, but some real pacing flaws. I also can't figure out exactly who the baboon represents. Can't be Kerry; he looks sharp after the botox.

You know, this one had potential - even though you are so damn wrong it's pathetic. I think I would have used a different word than "regulate" to trash the Dems. I'm sure the "baboon" isn't meant to be Bush, but I would have made it Bush and changed the word to "buffoon" - we think he's much more dangerous then Reagan because he's such an idiot, so it hurts even more that there's nothing we can do.

Yes, this song has potential. But lines like "Democrats aren't too bright" to replace "Don't come out tonight" and 'regulate' for 'take' are two-syllable jam ins. And I really can't figure out who the baboon is. I'm sorry; I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings, but the potential here isn't realized.
