The Lyrics

"Flight 602" was one of Chicago's songs that didn't seem to get a lot of airplay. I only remember hearing it twice before reviewing it via YouTube for the rhythm/meter, etc. So, as a tribute to a seldom heard, and never before parodied song, as best I can determine, this parody speaks of Santa on Christmas Eve making his appointed rounds--and, of course, a little back story about the "off season"! Merry Christmas, everyone!
You are, you are at the North Pole
And that’s a way up north,
It’s Christmas Eve, and so little time, you know you need
Need to get the presents, with oh so little time,
And you know, there are parents
Whom you have to please
Have to please
Have to please with the gifts they want
What they said that they wanted to see
Wanted to see
Wanted to be just a gift
Long as they get it for free
Get it for free

(Interlude)

You are, you are in your sleigh now
And flying all alone
Here and there, and you know you’re where, you need to be
Be thinking of the reindeer and going house to house
But, you know, there are lots of folks
Who are going to be
Just might see
Glad as can be just to see what’s there
What was left there under the tree
Under the tree
I only wanted to be Santa Claus
And I’m sure feeling free
Feeling free
Really feeling free!
