The Lyrics
Halloween used to begin on October 30. School kids would make masks from paper sacks and costumes from old clothes in Grandma's closet. For a couple hours on the evening of the 31st they would walk around the block, collecting candy from their friends and neighbors. Last week I walked into a dollar store and came face to face with a witch and a zombie mask. The commercial haunted houses open on Labor Day weekend. Meanwhile, due to tales, both real and apocryphal, of razors in apples and needles in popcorn balls, the custom of "Trick or Treat"-ing has all but vanished in a lot of places.
The witches come out in August
On the store shelves long before the first frost
Cast their spell
A basket of plastic pumpkins
Each one priced at just a single dollar
They will sell
You can purchase a mask that's red and scary
A wart on its chin, weird grin, decay!
The holiday starts tomorrow
So you'd better get it
'fore tomorrow, don't delay!

I told a friend about my plans to write this parody. She said that she has already seen Christmas decorations at her local outlet mall.
