The Lyrics

Yeah, I know - you are DKTOS on the Original Song. I wrote it a while back and didn't post it for that reason. Anyway, when I initially wrote this I was aiming solely at the present Administration. After Friday's cynical political "Dog & Pony'" show (the vote on the Iraqi War Resolution) you can now include the Republican House Leadership and most of it's members. There's a BIG difference between wanting an effective and Reality-Based plan to deter Terrorism and supporting the failed and counter-productive "strategy" of the current Under-Qualified President and his assorted and surrounding Boot-Lickers and Fools. Yeah, I'm seeing red...these foolish SOB's are playing political games with WAR and I for one don't appreciate it. Now for their next move watch them try to paint those opposing this travesty as "Soft on Terror", "Un-Patriotic", and/or "Traitorous". Well, I'm pretty non-violent, but if you pull that crap on me to my face you are looking at a "Knuckle-Sandwich", my friend...
[Instrumental intro]

Did not tell the truth
Now we can see that we're being screwed
Told us lies instead
Now stuck in Iraq; many men are dead

[Instrumental break]

Told so many lies
played on our fears
What they did is a crime
Sold us War and Hate
Revealed now and liars
But maybe too late

[Instrumental break]

Lied; now it is plain
know these clowns are shameless
Still, they tell us lies, yeah
Send them on their way

Things they said; not true
We have been had; yeah, we've all been screwed
Many now lie dead
These c*cks*cking liars sure make me see red

Still, they lie and say
crap; why do we take it?
Should confront these liars
and send them on their way

Nothing they say's true
You should not trust anything they do
What I now most dread
Kids of today find their future's spent

thanks, alvin...yeah, I wrote this a couple months back and figured no one would know the OS, but it said what I wanted to say after that House voice on Friday...so here it is...

One white duck (on the wall) - One dumb f*ck on the call. ;-)

Jethro Hint...what the Hell are you talking about? I hope that wasn't an attempt to be clever with Brewer & Shipley's "One Toke Over The Line" title, because if it was it missed "clever", hit that wall you alluded to and then slid down said wall and landed with a faint and feeble "thup". I hear the Parodymedics were called but when they checked the Vital signs they could not find any humor, irony, profundity or effective sarcasm, so they declared it "lame on arrival". But hey, you get to have your anonymouse opinion, don't you? It's still "America" last time I checked, though it's hard to say for much longer that will be an operative statement. Toodles and good day, dude or dudess ~ ~ ~

Guess Jethro came back by to give me some '1's"...Well, that's a real snappy retort...Ooh, I'm enmeshed in a battle of wits with a Mental Giant...he skipped right past the timeless and traditional "So's your Old Man" to slap me with the ever-so-clever non-verbal riposte of 3 mouse clicks on the #1 in the scoring. So let's recap here, shall we? I wrote a parody about an act that was clearly and obviously politically motivated grand-standing and posturing that I considered disgusting, especially since the grand-standers are using a WAR to play their sappy little "spin and mis-direct" game. "Jethro Hint" retorted with a weak word-play on the most popular song the OS artists, Brewer & Shipley ever released, and in doing so called me a name. OK...Then in reply I pointed out just how feeble a response that was to my opinion-soaked parody piece. You know, I just said what I thought...no more, no less. I think there is a preponderence of the available information that supports my point of view, but hey, opposing viewpoints are welcome to weigh in. Well, OK...I 'tweaked' whoever "Jethro" is over what I perceived as a lame attempt at wit in his/her response to my piece...what can I say, sometimes I just can't help myself. So 'Jethro' roars back with some "1's". Well, boy...there's a move that will surely bolster support for his opinion around here. He sure taught me a lesson...anonymousely...

Calm down! I did not vote 1s and you're reading all the wrong things into a friendly but obviously too subtle suggestion that you should look into your Jethro Tull collection for the song "one white duck" with the possible subtitle "on the wall" for another possible parody about the current (p)resident. :-)

Well....then...ahem...as Emily Littela (the late, beloved Gilda Radner) used to say on Saturday Night Live..."Oh...never mind". But you know, I STILL don't get which Jethro Tull song you are pointing me towards. I can't recall any Tull song with "one white duck" in the title or any reference to it in the lyrics, although with all the songs Tull has put out over the years I make no claim to be familiar with every one of them. Anyway, I apologize for jumping all over you, but it appeared to me on first reading you were addressing your comment to MY position...and in an anonymous persona...that's generally my signal that someone needs to be unloaded upon. Apparently I was still in the same pugnacious mode I wrote and posted this parody in. Here's a "Paul" Hint: Avoid excessive subtlety when you step into one of my "pissed-off political pieces". There's nothing whatsoever "subtle" about this piece. It's as straight-forward as "straight-forward" can get... Every line in it is EXACTLY what I think - and BTW fits into the very ominous tone & mood of Brewer & Shipley's OS. I'm not joking around when I talk about the mess the current White House occupant has made - and continues to make of everything he touches. It's a true tragedy that isn't going to go completely away when this fool's term in office is over. Think "Decades" to clean up the debris and damage he'll leave in his wake. When I read your apparently well-intentioned, if overly vague (lol) remark. I guess I understand wanting to stay "undercover" when commenting on a piece like this, but that tends to tilt my receptive perceptions in a negative direction. So I apologize, but I want you to see just where I'm coming from here.

It's OK, i figured something like that. As for "One White Duck" I've just googled it to an album called "Minstrel in the Gallery".
Paul Robinson - June 20, 2006 - Report this comment
OK, Jethro...uh...I don't have "Minstrel In The Gallery"...now I know THAT song...I do have a few songs off the album of that title, but they're from a double-CD Tull collection that commemorated "25 years of Jethrol Tull"....Anyway, I never heard of "One White Duck" before, don't have the foggiest idea of how it goes and as much as I love Tull I'm not really all that curious...so I won't be using it. Sorry if I sound a little curt. Feel free to have at it yourself. But thanks, anyway...
