Parody Song Title:

"See That Brian Jones"

Parody Written by:

Alvin Rhodes

The Lyrics

see that brian jones
he feels a swim...coming on
he's too stoned and not strong
and it ain't too long
till he just floats on down

and that's where he stays
till the break of day
six thirty...they go...find him there
mourning fans...leaving all sorts of plants
and the jukebox plays his famous songs

see that brian...
brian jones...brian jones...brian jones...brian jones
he had some things going on
we all know he was wronged
mick and keith, too strong
to give him his crown, now

he never was really careful
and partly cause of dope, he died
but he had his own trepidations
locked up inside

see...see that brian jones
brian jones...brian jones...brian jones...brian jones
he did his thing...then was gone
to the stones, he belonged
now he's not among
his body's cooled down now

well, it hurts for him to be leaving
we'll miss him much
his special touch
his pride
now he's passed awy
and lost in time
but tomorrow
they'll think of his sweet face
his sweet rhymes

see that brian jones
brian jones...brian jones...brian jones

Ah, the aptly named Brian... Jones. Ever see the clip of "Let's Spend 'Some Time' Together" on the Ed Sullivan Show? Mick Jagger and Bill Wyman both roll their eyes, Keith Richards grits his teeth, and Brian is too stoned to notice. Charlie Watts, of course, is Stone-faced. By the way, whatever happened to Mick Taylor?

thanks michael...yeah, seen that clip....later on jim morrison would defy sullivan over the word "high" in "light my fire"...as for mick, "the only man to leave the stones and live" taylor...he did tours over the years with jack bruce, alvin lee and bob dylan and a bluesbreakers reunion....still playing blues festivals now and then...i saw him myself about 10 years back

Imaginative OS choice and twist to make a nice tribute. 555. btw, wasn't Morrison later arrested for commiting a lewd act with himself onstage? Bet Sullivan woulda liked that...

Missed this eulogy earlier. Nice tribute to an early Stones icon.
