well, i started out that mornin'...car went dead without warnin'
so a crate i leased and left the city
soon a hitcher i picked up...but that rascal held me up
and took my cash and showed me no pity
i survived this crime but it cost me lots of time
cause talkin' to the cops took half a day
there was protocol employed...with my patience, they just toyed
i said i had to be on my way

and my vacation was a big mess...every way

i want skiin' and some fishin' but these things i am missin'
cause i ran a light that seemed to be yellow
didn't see that police car...and i'd just been to a bar
i was thrown into a cell for drunk fellows
spent the night with all these bums...wasn't bailed till after one
i hit the road and finally got away
but i wasn't overjoyed...i'd developed hemorrhoids
that driver's seat not comfy that day

then the rental started warmin'...radiator started stormin'
it was two-fifteen and sprayin' plenty
so i gave that car a shove and down the road i was a-trudgin'
as for help ?....i didn't have any
i caught a train that night...but the idea wasn't bright
the damn thing jumped the track and derailed
a replacement was deployed...but i felt too paranoid
cause everything i'd tried that day failed
