| Parody Song Title: | "Budget Cuts Ain't So Cheap" |
| Parody Written by: | Edward Genereux |
This is a ballad about how Tim Pawlenty, governor of Minnesota since 2002, abused his powers in 2009 by unalloting $2.7 billion from the state budget. Many Minnesota lawmakers have questioned the size of the action, particularly Democrats. One could argue that Pawlenty is only concerned with his ambitions for national office. In any case, Minnesota will pay dearly in the long run for these budget cuts.
Stanza I.
If you hate Pawlenty and you're at a loss,
You're in good company.
I can't get to college by paying his cost;
I guess, then, woe is me.
This time next year, many will hear
Of Pawlenty's crimes.
Healthcare's a mess, teachers got less
Than what was vowed this time.
Refrain.
Budget cuts ain't so cheap; (3x)
Budget cuts surely ain't so cheap. (2x)
Stanza II.
He's psychotic when it comes to dough
That taxes e'er supply.
He refused to tax the gas we use
Whenever we should drive.
Remember on that August day
When the bridge simply fell?
He must go 'cos money's slow
In this, our living hell.
(Refrain)
(Guitar solo)
Stanza III.
His lieutenant governor did kill his mind
O'er taxing millionaires.
Now we will see prices won't be kind;
It simply isn't fair.
In 2010, we start again
When Democrats win out.
They'll raise fees and I will be pleased.
This we don't doubt:
(Refrain)
Tag.
