Isn't it ironic that I wrote a parody of a typical Valentine's Day themed song and turned it into a song about the crazy things that drug addicts do to fund their drug habits?
Too many drunken slobs have fallen in the gutter
Too many junkies have drifted off to sleep
They take too much and then they pay the price

Intoxication is a problem with no answer
We've got some Narcan
and 911's on the phone
I can't believe so many lives are gone

I got the idea for this parody about a year or so ago when I heard the original song. I am planning on recording this one and I will be playing it on my show.

Irony is the whole point of good parody. Take a song and flip it on its head. Generally the more dischordant and incongruous the sub, the better. Yours fits the bill, definitely
I recorded this one last night. Stay tuned for the recording to drop within a few days.
Great rewrite. when I was growing up, it was this 'just say no' BS and the opine that druggies should all die for being so 'stupid'. But who's being really stupid when they don't take the time to LOOK at the problem and its causes. And yet alcoholism destroys as well and that's legal! Go figure.
