The Lyrics

What are some parents thinking ?
Latrina

[spoken]
Aaliyah? . . .

[sung]
Well, the baby is here…I have a chore
Ogonna?…Shalondra?…Tawanda?…Roshanda?…
Need a beautiful name that has never been heard before
Lakeisha?…Alayasia?…Keyshia?…Khalina?…

Latrina!
I've just named my daughter Latrina
I think the name is cool
And one the kids at school
Will like…

Latrina!
I’m glad that I thought of Latrina
‘Cuz now the name has stuck
That makes her such a lucky
Tyke…

Latrina!
Say it soft and it has potential
Say it LOUD and it sounds PRESIDENTIAL

Latrina,
It’s so quintessential
Latrina!

When her sister is born I’ll be ready with…
Vaaaa…geeee…naaaa

I've always wondered where some of those names come from. I've heard more than one account of babies whose name is pronounced "Shuh-tee-ed" but spelled, well you know how it's spelled. One popular novel features a minor character whose unwed teenage mother allowed the hospital staff to name her daughter "Gone-OR-ee-uh". I once asked a lady at a social agency how her daughter's name was spelled. She replied "I don't know".

I know what you mean. I guess the normal names like Mike, Kate, Susie, or Joe are out this season. I heard tell that some man named his children, "Adolf Hitler" and "Aryan Nation". They were angry because the bakery refused to put "Adolf Hitler" on a Birthday cake. Here's the news story: http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5gxnBSZtjbgocm6f98Bsgnsk3G-GQD95N1HRG0

Matthias, I read about that too. I'm pretty sure it was around near where I live. They went to a Shop Rite and wouldn't put the names on the cake. They later went to WalMart, and they agreed to do the cake, a representive said something like 'It's our job to satisfy customers'. However, if childrens names are nonsensical, or put the child in harms way, as Adolf Hitler would do, when the kids get older, they can legally have their names changed for free.

Good job here, not at all offensive. I could have sworn this song was longer, though. I trust your source material. 555

Latrina...interesting name. Therefore, what's in a name? I've also noticed that some Filipinos also have strange names such as: Pokwang, Chocoleit, Tintin, Idoy, etc. For girls, I heard names such as Maritess or Marichu. I happen to be a Filipino myself. Anyways, I can imagine what a girl would go through if she was named either Latrina or Va-Gee-Na. Hilarious. 555.

Latrina is a funny name...as is Vageena...Just saw on CNN where some parents named their kid "Adolf Hitler."..which is not funny, at all...Great job on the parody
Andria - January 14, 2009 - Report this comment
I was almost named Elvira, but my mom stepped in and named me Andria, because she liked the name and the classic Greek comedic play by Terence, also called Andria. Nevertheless, I can't think of two worse names for a girl than Latrina and Vageena. 5s.

Andria - I can think of two worse names for a girl: Hilary and Clinton.
