Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

Before the Internet...
Back then we had Cliff's Notes, Cliff's Notes, better than (long) reading,
No Internet glee, but a synopsis, you see
And we knew Cliff's Notes, were filled with highlights to plunder
Yellow, thin condensed wonders, for school cheating!

Brush up for the SAT,
Understand Shakespeare with ease,
Passed from hand-to-hand, and ear-to-ear
A test coming up? Nothing to fear!

Back then we had Cliff's Notes, Cliff's Notes, better than (long) reading,
No Internet glee, but a synopsis, you see
And we knew Cliff's Notes, were filled with highlights to plunder
Yellow, thin condensed wonders, for school cheating!
Note: Cliff's Notes were originally Canadian Cole's Notes licensed to Clifton Hillegrass of the Nebraska Book Company. He and his wife worked in their basement on 16 works of Shakespeare for a start! Kids loved them.

Cliff's Notes were the predecessor to the popular "------ for Dummies" series. I would not want to be the author of one that I saw in a bookstore: "Islam for Dummies". Sounds like grounds for a fatwa.
