Call me unconvinced, Eelster, nay, call me more than a TAD skeptical about your basic premise, to wit .. that a guy who lived in a van in the City of Berkeley, one of the most left wing places in this or any other parallel universe, was motivated by RIGHT WING messaging to bonk Paul Pelosi on the head with a hammer. For me that shrieks "left wing loon" with the intensity of a thousand air raid sirens

come on now. even Elon Musk apologized for retweeting the vicious lie that an angry gay lover attacked Paul Pelosi. the attacker was clearly in the mind frame of those who attacked the Capitol on 1-6. remember the psycho who was saying "Nancy, Nancy" as he looked for her, like someone in a horror movie?

And somehow that adds up to a Berkeley quasi street person being influenced by some right wing blog to attack Paulie Pelosi? .... Why is it that Pelosi was allowed to call police by this right wing assasin. Why did DePape wait for the cops to show up. And why does Pelosi answer the door for the cops and then go BACK to DePape. What kind of reaction is that to an unknown armed assailant in your house? Instead of telling the cops, "This guy wants to kill me with a hammer", he runs back to the guy with the hammer. And then he gets HAMMERED! I wont even venture a theory about what happened there .. but Im pretty sure your theory doesn't hold up.

the attackers target was Nancy. upon seeing the cop, he realized he wouldn't be able to get to her, so he decided to inflict damage to her partner to stab Nancy emotionally and mentally. Paul didn't think the attacker would dare to hammer him in front of the cop. he was wrong, underestimating how crazy the guy was.

Still have a problem explaining why this 80 year old man met the cops at the door, and then walked BACK to this dangerous intruder, who supposedly wanted to commit a political assasination. That makes no sense at all .... The S/M that suddenly got out of hand theory is, in fact, a better explanation for Pelosi's move. At least that makes SOME kind of sense
